An Appreciation Thread for the Prince Experts and Gurus of the Org

There's been a lot of talk recently about who does and doesn't have credibility, who does and doesn't know their stuff regarding our dear Mr. Purplepants, and who is and isn't in the know.

I'm starting this thread to show appreciation and absolute head-spinning awe for the expertise and reliability of some of the most knowledgeable folks we have on this site. They speak truth, they've never toyed with anyone, and they've always been present to answer anyone's questions, sometimes with more information than you thought you needed.

In my opinion, these are the big three:

BorisFishpaw
MetalOrange
Tangerine17

And those who I foolheartedly forgot to list initially, but whose names certainly belong here:

NouveauDance
LangeBleu

When they post, I pay attention. Not only do they know their stuff, but they're respectful, they write exceptionally well, and they know how to diffuse the typical online BS without ticking anyone off.

bow to you guys, and to anyone else who cares enough about folks on here to share the real deal.

I've never seen a question that Langebleu couldn't answer impeccably so I'll add him to the list.

nod He is. Most recently seen on the first incarnation of the 'Manuella files for divorce' thread, on which he caused me to snort coffee out my nose with his comment about CJ. I tend to remember these coffee snorting moments.

Yes, I agree, please add BobbyPin to the list. biggrin
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

bobbypin has had some interesting perspectives. i haven't seen many of his posts...the folks listed above come across as dyed-in-the-wool know-their-stuff enthusiasts. maybe bobbypin is too...i wish i knew him and his posts better.

I just went to jsevens website and his myspace page. It is his birthday today.

It seems he rather not do the cryptic stuff but sometimes has to til it is confirmed.

He was pretty clear on American Idol, and "Fury" on SNL and even hinted about the Super Bowl on the American Idol thread back in May. There are many other stories that he has also posted along with pictures on hosequake as well but those are the few recently that come to mind.

He does post more info on http://www.thebumpsquad.com and then posts elsewhere. Been a member since 2002 and dig the email notices that always seemed to move quicker in the community than the official NPGMC ones.

Oh well, thanks, he says blushing, but I wouldn't put me in the same league with Boris and Langebleu, I get the feeling they know everything from memory, whereas there's tons I don't know and often have to scurry around looking at saved info files and books so I can then look big and clever! And I've made errors from time to time, but I like to think I hold my hand up when that happens...

I obviously spend too much time on here and the internet. I must go off and find a life, or at least a beach I can sit on for 2 months without a computer...

But yeah, I definately big up Boris, Langebleu and Nouveau and a few others I can't think of right now.

I would, because it doesn't really matter whether you're a walking encyclopaedia or have to look the info up, the important thing is that you do provide plenty of answers to people's questions, and that's what we appreciate. In fact, scurrying around to provide answers shows true dedication, so big up to you too. thumbs up!

Great idea for a thread Anx! Thanks to all those who know so much and don't feel the need to be cryptic or holier-than-thou when they dispense with their wisdom. I actually get a little excited when I see Boris or Langebleu's avatars in a thread, because I know I'm going to learn something...and just when I thought I knew everything! And I agree with adding Metalorange to the list. He always knows what he's talking about, and is civil about it. We've had some fun back-and-forths on the various chart/sales threads.

Hell, I'd also add Dansa to the list for the way she expertly lays the smack down on those who don't know anything about Prince (but insist they know everything)! lol

Prince geekin' ain't easy. These folks are the precious few who could easily post cryptic b.s. in an attempt to glorify themselves as part of some inner Prince circle, but they don't.

thumbs up!
