!!LOVESEXY 88!!
I saw 3 shows and was totally blown away!! The stage spectacle! The awesome band! Manic set lists for TWO full sets! The whole Camille conflict. When he swung into the whole Controversy/Superfunkycalifragisexi/Bob George ending of the first set I thought I would totally loose my shit! What a complete experience. I loved it! 2nd place would be: July 1994 New York Palladium kicked my ass! That was one hard rockin mutha of a gig PACKED with solid ass kickin' jams! TIED for 3rd place: NYC Today show 1998 outdoor performance he did 3 songs for the TV broadcast & then played for the huge crowd on the street for over an hour! One Night Alone NYC 2002 After totally enjoyable, but scattered shows that I saw in 97 & 98, the excitement is back in full force with Prince's no bullshit jazz flavored "real music by real musicians" show. I was in HEAVEN! "Hyperactive when I was small, Hyperactive now I'm grown, Hyperactive 'till I'm dead and gone"

Lovesexy 88--3 1/2 hours of total funk. He looked great the stage was awesome and the band was unbelieveable! I had front row seats for that concert--I'll never forget it.
Sheila E. on drums--- no words to describe it.

of the 30 or so gigs i've seen, this year's shows would have to be at or close to the top. the thursday night atlanta ona show (april 4, 2002) including soundcheck, show and aftershow, may be the tops. i think years from now, we will look back at the 2002 shows as some of the best performances ever. i think that the soundcheck access is what pushes it over the top of some of the older shows that i've seen. to see the band working through new arrangements and playing stuff that doesn't ordinarily get played in a very intimate atmosphere for me was just too way cool. ------------------------------------------------

Ona New Orleans was the best for me UNTIL
I hit Minneapolis!!! Like a 7-night dream...Can't pick any special night...each had its own magic...but when Prince sat on that tall chair and strummed that acoustic guitar and openned his mouth and sang..."Don't Play Me!" I wished that could have lasted and lasted and lasted!!! It's about the MUSIC and the ENTERTAINER! - So...how's everybody doing?

The first of 2 aftershows @ The Emporium in London 1995.
SIMPLY AWESOME! Any1 else there? If so remember the sublime version of Day Of Wild? The crowd spontaneously singing "These r the dayz, these r the dayz!" to call Prince back on? ----------
AND I GOTTA ALOTTA BUTTA 2 GO!
