Gray was right-Here comes the storm after the calm! The Ultimate CD's that went out were a tease!LOS ANGELES - During his groundbreaking 18-year paisley reign at Warner Bros., Prince built a superfunkycalifragisexy legacy of genre-bending hits that made him royalty on the rock, soul, pop and R&B charts.
Warner Bros. Records salutes the Twin Cities' funknastiest son with a pair of releases: ULTIMATE PRINCE, a two-disc compilation featuring his biggest hits and hard-to-find remixes; plus DIAMONDS AND PEARLS, a DVD collection of videos, performances and more. Both are available August 22 at regular retail outlets and online at onlyhitmusic.com. The double-CD set can be purchased for a suggested list price of $24.98, while the DVD is available for $14.99. Featuring more than two-and-a-half hours of prime Prince, ULTIMATE includes songs recorded between 1978 and 1993. The two-disc set contains the Grammy-winning singles "Kiss" and "Purple Rain," plus #1 pop hits "When Doves Cry" and "Let's Go Crazy" as well as rare remixes of "Cream," "Little Red Corvette" and "Pop Life." Drawing from music Prince originally recorded with his backing bands The Revolution and The New Power Generation, ULTIMATE tracks the artist's evolution from his early albums (Prince, Dirty Mind and Controversy) and pop successes (1999, Purple Rain and Sign 'O' The Times) to more eclectic albums (Lovesexy, Diamonds And Pearls and the "symbol" album). A marathon of funky joints, sensual ballads and dynamic pop, ULTIMATE features Prince's first #1 R&B hit, "I Wanna Be Your Lover" from his self-titled 1979 sophomore album, as well as his Top 5 Pop hits: "Sign 'O' The Times," "Raspberry Beret" and "U Got The Look," and his Top 5 R&B hits: "Controversy," "1999" and "Alphabet St." A treasure chest of royal rarities, ULTIMATE collects hard-to-find tracks including the single version of "7" from the symbol album; the 12-inch version of "Raspberry Beret" from Around The World In A Day and the classic B-side "She's Always In My Hair" rounded out with remixes of "Hot Thing" from Sign 'O' The Times and "Thieves In The Temple" from the Graffiti Bridge soundtrack. DIAMONDS AND PEARLS contains more than an hour of music including the DVD debut of concert performances, interviews and classic videos. The collection spotlights songs from Diamonds and Pearls, Prince's thirteenth studio album and his first with the New Power Generation. Videos for the smash singles "Gett Off," "Cream" and the title track are bolstered by clips of fan favorites such as "Money Don't Matter 2 Night" and "Insatiable," as well as three more album tracks. The DVD also features concert footage of Prince and the NPG working up a sweaty funk on the Diamonds and Pearls tracks - "Thunder," "Jughead" and "Live 4 Love." The collection also captures Prince and his formidable band putting their unmistakable spin on Aretha Franklin's classic soul hit, "Dr. Feelgood." Interviews with Prince and the band round out DIAMONDS AND PEARLS. Considered a musical genius by many of his peers, Prince Rogers Nelson occupies a rarified place in music history as: a four-time Grammy winner; a prolific hitmaker with more than 50 multi-platinum, platinum and gold release to his credit; an electrifying performer whose last tour was one the year's top-sellers; and a consummate musician dedicated to exploring new musical territory. Gray may not have the final specifics but usually when you are dealing with very creative people things come when the feeling hits. Gray knows when things are going on..he's not looking for attention, He is the catalyst for excitement and anticipation. Just from what I've seen on these boards, thank goodness he's talking!!

That may be something to look forward to, I agree. But, the ultimate cds was common knowledge well before gray broke word on the back catalog being remastered. So are these songs really remastered or not ? I read here some while ago that they´re technically not really remastered . And what about the songs on Girl 6..are they remastered? " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I really don't know but when I heard before that it was out I searched everywhere I could to buy it..many leads of where to buy came from this site and I could never find it. I almost paid $125 for it on Ebay. Glad I didn't!

It DIDN'T break 13 hours ago, it broke MONTHS ago! It breaks down like this: The album was first discussed late last year. The album was set to be released a week before 3121 A few of the discs leaked, but Prince pulled the plug on the original release date. WB rescheduled the album for the fall (an August release was posted on sites like Amazon.com MONTHS ago). The D&P DVD was discussed last month HERE ON THE ORG. Here's a link to the original thread: http://www.prince.org/msg...To-Hit-DVD The thread linked to a Billboard article, which was posted on July 13th http://www.billboard.com/...1002839194 So, as you can see, old news. You may have missed it, and that is understandable, but don't get mad at us who already knew about it. From a certain point of view, any info supplied ahead of time is rumour until an official press release. But the fact is reliable information does leak out way before it has an official stamp on it. In this case, there were official press releases and adverts for the Ultimate Collection the FIRST TIME round, but that still didn't prevent it from getting pulled at the last minute! Still, it's been known for a long time UNNOFFICIALLY that the Ultimate collection would get released (again) most likely sometime in August.
Similarly, reliable information about The D&P video collection release was posted ages ago (I think it is somewhat mis-leading of that article not to mention that this video collection has been available on VHS since the mid-90s and is nothing really new). As has been said, I don't see how any of this relates to Graycap's predictions - other than he's pretty much said "something is coming later this year" which is so vague that it can be applied to anything tha might come along. There seems a few people still trying to defend Graycap in spite of his vague announcements and information that has been proved to not come true. The news on these releases is hardly justification for Graycap's predictions.

Gee Anx, crying 'fire' in a crowded theatre is a life threatening situation, all I did was post what I found on Google and it was released 13 hours before the time i posted it. Ya'll need to lighten up just a little. And as far as anger goes, why in the world would anyone get angry over news of an upcoming release.
All I did was try to share information that I found. ..and sorry if the thread title bothered anyone but it seems like people that try to share information have to really take a beating around here if you're not one of the select few. Good thing you guys don't have any real power - I'd be scared! What I posted had broken 13 hours before on Google. I am not angry but am a bit curious as to why so many people are sensitive to the point of almost seeming psychotic over an album release.
I was just trying to share information that I found on Google - and maybe just trying to be part of the group but now I don't think I want to- too many neurotics here.. All I did was try to share information that I found. ..and sorry if the thread title bothered anyone but it seems like people that try to share information have to really take a beating around here if you're not one of the select few. Good thing you guys don't have any real power - I'd be scared! you're right about everything voidra. i overreacted and everything you've said in this thread is completely spot on and amazingly insightful. thank you for this scoop about the diamonds and pearls DVD. it was incredibly informative and fresh. please never leave the org. i'd cry. Do not fear to be eccentric in opinion, for every opinion now accepted was once eccentric.

It's not the album release people are sensitive to, it's the thread title where you suggest Graycap's information is correct because of this info. The two have nothing to do with each other. If you'd just put in the title "Ultimate/D&P video collection release confirmed" then that would have been fine (although pretty much old news). In the same way, if Prince announces a world tour at the beginning of September or whenever, that also does not corroborate with Greycap's info because Grey specifically stated the tour would be starting at the end of July, which clearly has turned out not to have happened, therefore his information has not been corroborated at all. As I've said before, if someone makes their predictions vague enough, they can claim for-knowledge of practically anything, even if they were just guessing, and make themselves out to be big and clever..

Gray wouldn't know it if a particularly well-endowed elephant took him forcefully over a desk. He is the catalyst for excitement and anticipation.
If by "the catalyst for excitement and anticipation" you mean "very tedious" then I agree! But Marge! What if we chose the wrong religion? Each week we just make God madder and madder.
