when people say things in forums about how african americans are "monkeys who beat on drums" thats pushing the limit...personally this place needs more postivity than negativity.people are basically leaving in droves because of some peoples sheer ignorance and nastiness granted this is a public forum but you have to draw a line somewhere and now last night something came to my attention that the ADL wants to get involved againt prince.org for civil rights issues and slanderous activity in its forums.it is my opinion that either the forums be shut down. and just have the news like the old org did.because when there was no forums there was no negativity in this place at all. now people have taken it way to far and created monsters.i really hope ben and kevin and val understand that its the forums and some of the people who are making the forums the negative place to post.more moderation is called for.and in time most people will come back to the org when the negativity ceases.

This is exactly my point in Flerida's (HellOnHeels) thread! We are all here for the same reason originally, namely Prince and the music. Over time, since The Org version 2.0 came up, it has gotten out of hand, and people inadvertantly lost track of the reason for this site being up. We ask u to please return to our common roots, get back to talking about the music, relevant and positive topics. We ask u to help keep this place going, because in our own ways, each and every one of us have fun here. We are asking for your help people. Prince's fans should be intelligent enough to realise that there is only one race, homo sapiens, and that all people have equal value regardless of skin colour and sexual orientation. Please help make The Org stay alive people!

You know there is no way people will suddenly start behaving "positively" just because a few good souls from the chatroom (obviously Anti-Forum People...) ask them to. There will be conflict as long as this site hosts a diverse group of people hell bent on sharing their views. Simple as that...

If the beautiful + sign people want to start an orgy of positive threads, that would probably be a more proactive reaction than just leaving. They too have the power to start threads... but they don't.Why? It seems as though you are saying that everyone is just waiting for positivity to come back to the Org, but few seem to care enough to make it happen. Isn't that strange? If people were just dying for + signs, wouldn't they take things over? It's not happening...

All this site needs a little moderation. If it would be all niceties and politeness, traffic would be even worse because the place would feel fake and stiffled. People should certainly make an effort to be less nasty, but it's pointless to be dreaming about some kind of perfect harmony.

As a chatroom soul, I just don't get the negativity in the forums. It's all so unnecessary and ugly. There is no respect for anyone and that's not to say that there is mutual respect in the chatroom but in my 5-6 years chatting with the same group of people, I've never seen the ugliness that's displayed in the forums.

Perhaps get rid of the ofensive Org distructive presonalities and set a longer period before new accounts can post and eliminate the people who insist on postting crap after 2 warnings or something but I wouldnt want to make the staff here work so hadrd for something fokls don't seem to appreciate .

When I first found this site I found a bunch of people with differing views drawn together by one common link, Prince. Slowly and surely more people joined who seemed to have a soul purpose on this site, and that was to create havoc. These people began attacking others for their differing views weither it is about Prince, religion, sex or racism. Debate is all good until it comes to a certain point when people stop being civil in the defense of their veiws and start attacking others. You can disagree without attacking. I have had my fair share of arguments with Oceana but it wasn't until she continuosly used my daughter in her insults on me that I lost my calm and for that I am ashamed. But what amazed me was the fact that she was allowed to open account after account and then remain after she began her attacks. The fact that these few people who are causing the demise of this site are still here amazes me. I don't want this site to go to only talk of Prince and nothing else because there are only so many times you can dissect a song or album or disscuss the women in his life. Talk about God but if you don't agree with someone's view then simply state why and leave it at that. And the one's being disagreed with should just leave it alone and accept that not everyone will think or feel the way you do. People need to learn how to accept others veiws without feeling it's a personal attack on them. And if someone continously causes problems or starts threads that they know will cause arguments then warn them and if they continue suspoend their account for a week then if they come back doing the same thing delete their account.

I see a bigger problem here. I'd like to see more moderation of the forums, I think the moderators of the forums have to start censoring, deleting, screening more and more and keep this site as clean as possible from all the hatered that took over prince.org. but then people will say that this website is not objective, just like NPGMC that posts only positive e-mails from fans. But look at what it has become? All I see lately are posts about other orgers and how they hate them. what's that have to do with Prince? This is not a Prince fansite anymore. I haven't seen many threads lately that have ANYTHING to do with Prince.
It would be sad to see this website and this great idea go to waste.
Ben, I truly hope you can bring back the old prince.org that was about Prince. I'd be happy to help in any way, because I have become attached to this place and to the people here who share their love for Prince's music, and who respect the people behind the screen, who read/post here.

Im not at all sure what all this "negativity" all you people are whining about actually is.
The forum is... a forum! Its for Prince fans to post their opinions whether you agree with them or not. You can post your disagreement or simply move on to another thread.
And as you all seem to think it was better without the forum... why bother using it?

That is why I will not accept these recent events, because I am first and foremost here to talk to and share things with people who enjoy the same music as I do, but recently that has become next to impossible because of all the silly and ugly threads and posts. Even when somebody makes a valid and interesting thread some people will deliberately misinterpret the original post, answer something offensive and silly and pull the thread down with it. The people who wish to have serious discussions about the music have therefore been discouraged from starting threads, because they/we feel that there is no use in doing so because it will only be drowned by people who make fun of u or worse just because u wanted to talk about something related to Prince or his music.

I had a discussion with bluelight (Silvia) today in the chatroom concerning u IceNine, and she said that u are one of the smartest people here. I agree, but I also feel that being that intelligent u should be able to see when things have gone too far. That time is now.
