You won't like everything on there, but there's enough great songs to make it more than worth your money.

I vote NO. This cd is three discs of pooptoast

It is full of sappy, overproduced love songs to Mayte.

If you like that sort of thing, go for it...but don't pay over $5 and I'd wait until you have every other Prince album before buying it.

That`s right! This is one of the few tracks on this trippel album that I really dig. I still think this little tune is a pearl.

I don't know about where you're from but in the UK I often see Emancipation for as little as £1.99 so for that price you may as well buy it.

well for the sake of completeness yes u should, there are a few decent tracks on it but on the whole it is poor. Well actually when i first heard it I thought it was b*llo*ks but as I say a few track grew on me. You might like it but IMHO it was the point where Prince started to lose the ability to write great lyrics.

Yes, get it! There are some awesome songs on there. Not to mention, it really paints a picture of his life at that point in time. You also get to hear his Baby's heartbeat on "Sex in the Summer."

Imago

I play Emancipation more than most Prince albums.

There are 6 or 7 songs that I strongly dislike. But considering that it has 36 songs, that means there are 30 songs that I actually really dig.

The production is plastic--kind of a neo-sould meats electro vibe to it, but the songs are tight and romantic. It's the last Prince album that evoked any real emotion that I could identify with.

Definately under-appreciated.

Yes get it, awesome. I love everything but Skip da da daa because it sucks. "The plan" is a filler since it's also on kama sutra as well, emale and my computer kinda remind me of each other (subject wise I guess they cancell each other out). The rest is great!!!!!

Me too. It was said that it was too preachy and prejudiced. But once again, Prince had written a couple of songs that seemed to be more about his personal experience a la Billy Jack Bitch from TGE. At the beginning it was difficult for me to decide. However, on a first listen I loved it despite the personal statements.

You can Pick Emancipation up some places for one dollar.
It has several great tracks on it.
You should get it. nod

"Let's Go Down, to the Holy River".
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.
You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

It got pretty good reviews, best to not believe what some Orgers say. Remember, these are the same people who just adore the weak 3121.

Emancipation is a really good album, first rate. Many songs you should fall for, like a round, packed butt. It is a bit overproduced, but what else is new. Unlike 3121,which is underproduced--gofigure. But, get it.
All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!
