My press release notes for 3121 listed that Prince was to be performing from the "house". The awards are August 31st. Will we see a performance?

I sure hope so. He really really needs to go on this show. This could be his last best hope to get sales of 3121 from the toilet.

Well the nominations came out today and he was only nominated in one category, Best Cinematography (i think i messed it up) for Black Sweat. With this news, who knows if he will show up or not.

The press release for the MTV awards was issued today and Prince's name didn't appear as a performer. Of course they did mention that more performers were to be added later, so who knows.

I think that was more of a Universal wish list then an actual set thing.

If he was 2 perform, it would be at the show itself, but with 1 nomination? Yeesh.

Let's hope he does perform!

No way, guys. He ain't going anywhere near that show (and he shouldn't).

This nomination is just too embarassing. Plus, "best cinematographer" is just what it sounds like.. an award for the cinematographer and not the artist.

It's basically a bone that's been thrown. If he shows up, it will just be embarrassing. I think he needs to stay away from awards shows nows, not when he's coming up weak. Especially since that really lukewarm 3121 performance at the BET Awards. He didn't do himself any favors with that one.

They are an embarrassment its bad enough he did the BEt awards, but this would not be good, especially now, no one at MTV even knows a track from 3121. Also this show is not a Ratings "cash cow" like it used to be, its been dropping like crazy the last few years. Their recenlty was a similar type of show in the Latin Market called "Premios Juventud 2006" same type of show, young crowd, and this show beat the last 3 MTV MUSIC and MOVIE award shows combined, so Mtv aint generating any sales for Prince if he does it.
