P's next album: Lashes out at critics, the industry, and even his fans

Could anybody imagine P's next album? I wanna see him make an album that is personal in the lyrics, theme, and mood. He has plenty of ammo to fuel his creativity in his songwriting: the divorce, speculation among industry insiders, the media, and even fans about his behavior this year (shutting down the NPGMC.COM, divorce, gossips). If he really delved deeply into his soul he could make another career defining album like Sign O' The Times.

Whatever it is, it can't be worse than the made for MTV-lite bunk that was 3121. I'll be satisfied with a solid album, I think expecting antoher Sign O The Times is a sign of delirium. Those days are over and they're not coming back.
No hard feelings.

I'm not saying he'll make a album the caliber of SOTT, but like most of his musical associates have said of him, it's time for him to throw commericial consideration to the side. Stop aiming for MTV and BET, and make an album that has honest songwriting. "The Love We Make", "Don't Play Me" i hope he re-invents himself and goes deeper besides partying at Hollywood mansions, Tamar, the Twinz, and sex.

I totally agree with what your saying.
U can cut off all my fins - But 2 your ways I will not bend
I'll die before I let U tell me how 2 swim
And I'll come back again as a dolphin

You must know Prince quite personally to make a statement like that.

JW means you view the world different. Prince judges people more now and the days of 'am i gay or straight' are gone.

There's no freedom in his music, no love for his fellow humans; it's so dogmatic and uninventive.

So you're stereotyping him as a JW. I thought we were beyond stereotypes in this day and age. Unless you sit down with him and get to know him as a person and how he interacts daily with people, you're not in a position to say he has no love for his fellow humans, what the fuck kind of statement is that to make for a stranger?

If you want to say his music sucks now-a-days fine. But to get personal and say he has not love for his fellow humans? Give me a break. rolleyes

It's funny how you say Prince judges, because it looks like you're doing the same here.

the days of the honest and open prince might be gone
prince is on the verge of becoming branded
meaning prince will become more like the rolling stones and market himself according 2 what he THINKS the audience wants
this means outrageous ticket prices, over priced merchandise, and paint by the number cd's
someway somehow he needs 2 find his muse again
he was getting there with trc and those projects
while some may have complained of the jazzy over/undertones
i appreciated that he was making some interesting and challenging music again
when compared 2 3121, news is a frigging masterpiece.imho by the way
minor keys and drugs don't make a rollerskate jam

I think it's time for him to take a step back and dust off his vault,
secure all those tapes and make sure they're being treated with the
best possible storage means.

Then sit down and pick/remaster tracks for at the very least two or
three anthology like sets a la Crystal Ball with outtakes, alternat
versions and his own versions of songs given to others.

Give it a year or two and then come back with a double cd filled up
to the brim with absolute gems. No filler, no half baked ideas just
absolute classics one by one.
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps
