I love the flow, and the narrrative is where it should be, when it should be, and as it should be. This album is both as diverse and cohesive as it could be. I don't understand how so many of the "fans" couldn't appreciate this work of art, because they couldn't get into, or get beyond, if necessary, the Biblically inspired lyrics... I mean, if U consider that challenging, Prince's lyrics have always been challenging in one way or another. Also, he's always written about God, and in several ways and forms... Do U believe in God? Musically, we R all allowed 2 prefer what we want. 2 each his reach, I suppose, but musically, The Rainbow Children represents my musical taste pretty well... especially the title cut. Peace. G. Biblically "inspired" is correct... so much of it is Prince-speak as well. he found his own metaphors in order to retell a biblical epic, Genesis-Revelation... A masterpiece! | |
