Prince's office at Paisley Park

Has anyone ever seen Prince's office at Paisley Park? I think it was the room P & the NPG were performing in during Gangsta Glam.I know it's of the left side because he said he could view the swing set/play area from his office.

I wonder how nice his office at WB was? I guess he never stepped foot in the office and you know the rest of the story. I wonder what would have happened if he would have stayed with WB under that wack contract and stayed VP????? confused

Before the replys....I know he signed it but the contract was still wack. 10 mill only if the pervious album sold 5 mill copies....how many P albums sold 5 mill copies (before his next album was to be released)? I can only think of 3...Purple Rain, Batman and Diamonds & Pearls.

Oh THAT was the stipulation? Omg now I totally understand him wanting to get out of that. That is ridiculous! Hmmmm now I see him getting out of that contract in a new light....

Do you also see him *signing* that contract in a new light as well?
He was a grown man, and knew what he was signing.

I realise that too..but I don't know...the whole situation seems really messy...I think sometimes you do things and then realise that you are really being taken advantage of and then you get angry and want to right the wrong...I really don't understand the whole WB battle but...I understand following through on your commitments but come on fair is fair...that deal does sound like it sucks.

Like I said...he signed it but the contract was wack. Have you ever left a car dealership and felt like you got took? Even though you got the car you wanted and you are pimpin', you fill like you shouldn't have signed that paper work.

I'm sure that is how P felt and if Londell was in the picture it wouldn't have happened. P wanted a 100 mill contract (The highest contract ... Janet just got 80 and michael's I think was 65 or 70) but the contract was made bigger than it really was because of P needing to sell so much to receive the full amount. P was released the info "100 mill" before WB said anything so all this hype was out.

Like I said I'm sure it was like driving off in your first car and it was nicer than all of your friends and you just feel great...until you read the paper work. Also P just came off a huge year with D&P so he was feelin' good.

Would you feel the same way if the contract was skewed in Prince's direction, and WB reconsidered, and changed their name to try to get out of the contract, etc.?

If he didn't read the contract or realize what he was signing, the fault lies directly at his feet, without question. For him to pout about it afterwards just makes him seem immature petty and petulant.

Aren't those terms typical in the biz? I recall reading that those big contracts MJ and Janet signed were similar. There was all this hype about the tens of millions they could make as advances...but only if each album reached very lofty sales goals.

Maybe it sounds like a ripoff, but apparently the artists who signed these contracts were confident they could earn those big paychecks. Or more cynically, one could say they were cocky enough to believe they'd perpetually have top-selling albums.

confused Look I'm not one of those Prince fans where I think everything he does is right and everything he speaks is gospel or anything but Prince is the talent..he's the one that companies need to make their buissness work and make money...so WB really should have made it a priority to take care of someone with that level of talent..not only of someone with that level of talent but someone with that kind of work ethic and determination to make great work. Not everyone is as talented as Prince..they should go the extra mile with him...
