His promoting of beautiful women had everything to do with wanting to get sex and nothing to do with any interest in helping an artist out. That's why the vast majority of the protegees were beautiful women with less talent than your average Spice Girl. And that was exactly my point. ....? You said he helped them because he understood the power women can have. I saw it as more that he was trying to get some pussy. Not really the same thing IMO. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Not to digress...but this awareness of the "power a woman's sexuality has over a man" is the very reason why I've never thought Prince was lyrically misogynistic. People used to say ...how can you ... claim to be feminist and watch Prince oversexualize women ...blah, blah, blah....He's no better than the rappers. But really he's always given mad praise to woman power (Purple Rain violence against women aside )...it wasn't until 1992 when he changed his image/line-up and had Tony M and such that I thought ...this is a bit disrespectful (with booty booming questions and all ). Ok...back on topic...

good point, thats what i think!!! i'm not bothered if anyone is straight, gay or bi!!! good for you, but just because prince doesn't follow the stereotypes of straight men, and he is an eccentric and does wear make-up, hello tell me one male celebrity who doesn't!!! anyway thats what i think!!

LOL... u folks that say that stuff are just on the ground floor lookin up,....and just aint on his level. Let me tell u y. Prince has always been about power. Dig? Power over his music ,...power over his band members,...power over every elemnt in his personal life. Prince has also always understood the power of sex and attraction. He keenly understands that sex is another form of power. Attraction is power. And he understands how the true holders of sexual power and attraction are not men,.....they are women. He is the farthest thing from gay. On the contrary, ...he sophisticatedly understands and is drawn to the unique POWER of female sexuality. A sexual kind of power that even the handsomest men .....do not have. Gay.....heh, heh. Yeah right. Its about total power and control. Thats Prince. . Very well stated and on point. perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...

2. It wouldn't matter to me personally if he came out today and said he is. I would however, get pissed because of all the freaking, "I told you so!" calls that I'd undoubtedly get. Motherfuckers I haven't talked to in years would be calling me up with that shit! 3. I feel that most people who think Prince is gay are men because they want him to be. Not because they want him (well, not all of 'em) but because they're jealous of the fact that Prince in all his make-up wearing, high-heel sporting glory can and has pulled more women than they could ever hope to in this lifetime and the next, so I don't let it bother me. [Edited 7/28/06 13:06pm] sooooo funny!!!!! thats what i think would happen, nearly fell off my chair laughing!!! funny x x

I agree with you. My friends say that he's gay because he "looks" like it. It's a very unintelligent thing to say. It makes them seem closed-minded. They think that whatever they see one time is how it really is all the time. It pisses me off.

M80 wrote, "pluse [sic] + ive [sic] meat [sic] him befor [sic] hes [sic] not gay".
That, unfortunately, is the same type, yet opposite, conclusion, to which Steph07 referred when she wrote, "My friends say that he's gay because he 'looks' like it. It's a very unintelligent thing to say. It makes them seem closed-minded." Steph07 is right because these sorts of conclusions, whatever their outcome, are based on visual preconceptions and prejudices rather than facts. One cannot necessarily determine if one is homosexual on appearance. Similarly, one cannot necessarily determine if one is heterosexual based on appearance. One should rely on facts and reason to make a reasonable conclusion. If Prince were to say he is a homosexual, one could reasonably conclude that he is, in fact, a homosexual, given that such a statement is one not made by many major artists or others in a public role given that the effect of which statement would likely be negative in terms of career and sales. In addition, if one were to see first hand or other visual evidence of Prince sleeping with another man, for example a videotape, one may come to a reasonable conclusion that Prince had homosexual relations.

well, you see, there's a certain recruitment quota we gheys have to meet every month or else our power to turn into bats and fly get revoked. Classic remark!!! Also why is it that us gays are only identifiable by wearing make up and heels, that is so stereotypical, gays come in all shapes, sizes and types and we are all beautiful objects of Gods Creation 17 Years ago I made a commitment to Prince

I don't think Prince is 100 % straight, but not gay
I think he's had the opportunity to try another "side" and lucky him.. Beside, what I definetely luv about him is his ambiguous way. Also, the man has to be with someone who knows how to keep him constantly on the run, always in his hair under his skin; that one sould be his muse, his inspiration. As an artist he needs someone who interacts with him, with his feelings and who can contribute to keep his senses awaken. Somehow it's surely difficult to go thru a divorce, as I know a little about that matter, above all, better succeed into a separation than fail into a relationship. Whatever he does with his Joystick, it's his own business! We make our own way to heaven everyday

Yes I've always been attracted to men that were more artistic, intelligent or creative...is it any wonder that alot of these types of men may appear more effeminate or less agressive than other men? Cuz they develop these personality traits rather than bulking up and bench pressing their dates. No seriously even if a guy acts softer or is smaller it usually is more attractive to me because their mind is soooo much more attractive. I can't stand those dumb guys who are like "I'm a MAN'S man" who just drink beer, like to shoot guns and make jokes about their woman being the "ol' ball in chain" I don't hate anybody and I like many different types of men but guys like these...I really couldn't find myself being sexually attracted to them. But hey, you never know...sometimes you will find that guy that looks like a monster and reads Plato and is as soft as a teddy bear inside...so you can never judge them untill you talk to them.

Would I care YES!!! But only for selfish reasons. Part of the attraction to Prince, especially in the early days, is because here's a man, who wears high heels, eyeliner, makeup, prancess around, but still yet, he's hollaring out to women, being very mysterious, intriguing, dirty, sensual, and sexy, and it just drives us crazy. To me, if he came out gay, it would not work, because as a straight person, that is what makes it such an enigma, because most other straight men won't get away with that shit, only Prince can and that's part of what makes, Prince, Prince. Okay, I know I'm not making any sense. This reminds me of the times I try explaining to my male friends why Prince is so sexy to me. Like I said. All for selfish reasons. Either way, he's still a great musician to me and always will be!!! I t o t a l l y f e e l u!!!!! [Edited 8/12/06 16:52pm]

I dont care about if what i do is either feminine or masquline.

Um, Biology distinguishes men from women. Their natures are distinctly different.
How those natures are expressed (clothes, makeup, behavior, etc) are of course up for interpretation... and that part (gender expression) can be called 'man made.' But masculinity and femininity are real and not contrived by humans.

Good speech, hes like the flamboyantly bisexual Little Richard (like Prince, Richard was essentially gay, but he loved the ladies too and all his girls go on about how wild Richard was in bed with them , Richard says it himself in "The Quasar of Rock and Roll", I was creaming 7 8 times a day, if there was a trophy for creaming I would have won it, and stories about his girlfriend finding men and bringing them up to Richards hotel room and they both having their ways with them. 17 Years ago I made a commitment to Prince
