Men are so threatened by Prince because he just has a high sensitivity level that alot of men lack. Alot of women feel like they can relate to him because he is so in touch with his emotions. There is alot about him that is very much a man and he has very masculine traits too but also there is a gentleness about him that women appreciate and causes them to feel at ease. Also he really appreciates femininty so for ultra feminine women you almost feel MORE appreciated for who you are in his presence I can imagine becaue he is so encouraging of that sort of thing. He's kinda like a best girlfriend only with a penis. Could a woman ask for anything more? cool

falloff falloff falloff From everything I've read about this brother, he ain't a damn bit sensitive, especially as far as communication is concerned.

so for ultra feminine women you almost feel MORE appreciated for who you are in his presence I can imagine becaue he is so encouraging of that sort of thing

If by ultra feminine, you mean ultra docile, than yea. I'm not sure what P encourages, but it doesn't seem conducive to a strong and most importantly equal relationship. Seriously Krystal, do you think you could handle him?

lol Well I don't know Prince at all, I'm just baseing all my assumptions off of years of listening to his music and reading any damn thing I could get my hands on wink , so I would readily admit that I could be wayyyyy off and who knows if I really met him what he would seem like to me...maybe I'd see him more of a father figure or teacher than my Mr. Object of lust...drool...I really can't say cuz I've never interacted with him.

He just seems to be a intelligent, sensitive man and very fatherly expecially to young women. This is just what I see.

1. I've never thought Prince is gay.

2. It wouldn't matter to me personally if he came out today and said he is. I would however, get pissed because of all the freaking, "I told you so!" calls that I'd undoubtedly get. Motherfuckers I haven't talked to in years would be calling me up with that shit!

3. I feel that most people who think Prince is gay are men because they want him to be. Not because they want him (well, not all of 'em) but because they're jealous of the fact that Prince in all his make-up wearing, high-heel sporting glory can and has pulled more women than they could ever hope to in this lifetime and the next, so I don't let it bother me.

If he wasn't who he is, then I would buy the "men are just jealous" angle....but this mo-fo is a world famous and admired star....if he didn't pull more women than my "unknown is a phenomenal understatement" ass, then he would seriously have some issues....for jeebus' sake, even BIZ MARKIE was pullin ass when he was "big"..
..the fact that P pulls more than the average joe ain't got a damned thing to do with him bein' straight or gay....

Superstar status or not, Prince is fine as hell! In more than enough female circles, believe me when I tell you, that fact alone is more than enough! wink

I don't doubt it....but the point of the post was him sporting his outfits and gettin all the play that some jealous men can't hook up with in this or any lifetime...I don't know where u hang out, but a dude in yellow ass-out chaps and high heels would get the living shit kicked out of him for sportin something like that in some of the non-tourist clubs in New Orleans....or in more recent living history, anywhere near a military post...again, not h8n, just st8n...

That's how Prince was looking the first time I ever saw him on "American Bandstand" and in the "Right On" magazines that year. Fish as hell! His gestures were even much more fish back then. The hand on the hips, the big hoop earring in the right ear, the prancing around, and slinging hair. That bitch was flaunting it and didn't give a damn who liked it or not. lol

You have some stellar reading skills, my friend. Didn't I just say a few posts up that NO not everyone who thinks Prince might be gay or bi is a man that either wants him or is jealous of him? Plenty of people, gay/straight, men/women think Prince may not be hetero, and it has nothing to do with jealousy or want.

Three reasons why Prince is NOT gay.
1). He would've been outed a long time ago.
2). The answer he gave Chris Rock about why he didn't want to sing "BAD" with Michael Jackson(He didn't want to sing the lyrics"you're butt is mine" to MJ)
3). Prince's taste in women is way too good.

1) Confidentiality agreements. He makes damn near everyone sign them.
2) It's Michael Jackson. 'Nuff said.
3)Gay men tend to have better taste in women that straight men do

again, i'm *not* saying Prince is gay. just trying to refute piss-poor arguments as to why he can't possibly be

And see that is what I LOVE about this era. He really did seem gay...but he was with women....if I had met him back then I'd think "oh I just love this gay guy. I wish he was straight." But the thing is he LOVED girls. I really can't blame anyone for thinking he was gay...expecially back in those rigid days...but the funny thing to me is he was just so obsessed with girls it was unreal. wink The whole thing is so funny and ironic to me.

I never cared for his music during that era.
I've seen his older interviews (if you can even call them that), and it does appear that there has been a deliberate "butching" of him througout the later part of his career. The older stuff was way way fish, and I wouldn't be surprised if my butthole could be the brine shrimp it feeds upon. shrug

Gay????

LOL... u folks that say that stuff are just on the ground floor lookin up,....and just aint on his level.
Let me tell u y.

Prince has always been about power.
Dig?
Power over his music ,...power over his band members,...power over every elemnt in his personal life.
Prince has also always understood the power of sex and attraction.
He keenly understands that sex is another form of power.
Attraction is power.
And he understands how the true holders of sexual power and attraction are not men,.....they are women.
He is the farthest thing from gay.
On the contrary, ...he sophisticatedly understands and is drawn to the unique POWER of female sexuality.
A sexual kind of power that even the handsomest men .....do not have.

Gay.....heh, heh. Yeah right.
Its about total power and control.
Thats Prince.

My issue is with the nay sayers (vultures) that are circling now that he is divorcing again. Just this morning a guy on the radio here in ATL was saying he doesnt understand why women are in denial about P's sexuality! He said "The man wears eyeliner and heels, what more proof do you need". Well I say to that reporter WHAT EVA u just want him peace

Maybe i am in denial, big deal.. I don't give too hoots. I just like prince and I take this as a matter of fact. and him being gay is just superficial and has nothing to do with anything.

Or, sexyfunkystrange could've just had too much Purple KoolAid.

Prince may very well have some unique perspective on sex or gender, but more likely than not he doesn't. You shouldn't forget that once you take his guitar away and wipe off the makeup, Prince is just a regular human being like the rest of us. Albeit one who's made a lot more of his talents than most of us ever do, but still just a regular Jo(sephine?).

I don't know but sexyfunky just presented an angle that never crossed my mind before. A beautiful woman does have incredible power in this society...Prince probably knows how HE can surender to a beautiful woman's charms...just look at how much he did for Vanity, and countless other beautiful proteges...so maybe he really does realize this and uses it.

Well Denise Matthews said she felt like he was one of the only people to take her career ambitions seriously and he did do alot for them...he wrote songs for them, put time and energy into directing their act, he let them use his association with him to get their faces in showbiz and Vanity did have a semi-succuessful career for a while in the eighties after Vanity 6, his helping her had a lot to do with his attraction to her and whatever affection he felt for the woman. So my point being he feels the power of a beautiful woman, knows she has an effect on him, just like any other man.

From what I've read, Prince's "help" was more of a hindrance to many a career than anything else. His promoting of beautiful women had everything to do with wanting to get sex and nothing to do with any interest in helping an artist out. That's why the vast majority of the protegees were beautiful women with less talent than your average Spice Girl.
