I've often been told I have a lot of feminine qualities for a man. It's not in the way I sound necessarily, but more in the way I move and express my emotions. That doesn't mean I've EVER wanted to BE with another man, however.

a) People who get overly involved with Prince's personal life and feel the need to defend his sexuality are fucking losers. There, I said it. Prince may be straight, gay, or bi, but either way it doesn't make any difference to us, unless for some reason his work were to suffer by playing for the other team.

b) you people who are so quick to defend Prince's sexuality treat being gay like it's a bad thing. Why get angry, what's it to you? Prince isn't lying awake all night because somebody thinks he likes dick, and neither should you.

c) neither should you assume that people that think Prince might have a touch more lavender than just the purple rain do so because they're jealous and/or homophobic straight guys. I know plenty of people of varying sexualities and genders, fans and non-fans, that wonder about our Brat.

d) wouldn't a question of his gender behaviour be more appropriate any way? I've never met a gay or bi man that behaves the way Prince does (and I mean right down to the subtle matter of body language) but I have met trans and intergendered people that behave ambiguously like he does. I'm not trying to imply anything about his gender identity -because I know about as much as the rest of you and care about as much as the saner among you -but to me that seems like something more obvious to question, light years ahead of which sex he prefers to bed-boogie with.

I think y'all need to get out more.

I can't at all. I'd be surprised if people didn't wonder about him. I think though what throws people more than the makeup and heels is the flirty, coquettish, feminine body language. That itself is just odd for any man, regardless of orientation. The reason more people don't question Dennis Rodman's sexuality is because despite the wedding dresses and mascara, he has undeniably "man" body language, whereas Prince tends to blur the gender line.

1. I've never thought Prince is gay.

2. It wouldn't matter to me personally if he came out today and said he is. I would however, get pissed because of all the freaking, "I told you so!" calls that I'd undoubtedly get. Motherfuckers I haven't talked to in years would be calling me up with that shit!

3. I feel that most people who think Prince is gay are men because they want him to be. Not because they want him (well, not all of 'em) but because they're jealous of the fact that Prince in all his make-up wearing, high-heel sporting glory can and has pulled more women than they could ever hope to in this lifetime and the next, so I don't let it bother me.
