Prince working on follow-up to 3121?!?! Did anyone notice this sentence in the People magazine article?
"Prince, who is working on a follow-up to his critically acclaimed 2006 album 3121, was previously married to backup singer and dancer Mayte Garcia from 1996 through 1998, when their union was annulled." http://people.aol.com/peo...21,00.html

I wouldn't call it a follow-up. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

I assume that its some standard line they write about people. And considering Prince is always writing music, he's basically working on his follow up the day after the most recent CD is all done.

Right. '3122' is probably still a while off yet.

That doesn't really mean much. Entertainment Weekly wrote during 2004 that Prince was currently working on a new album with Wendy and Lisa. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

What does that mean? Is that like consumating a marriage up the bum? But Marge! What if we chose the wrong religion? Each week we just make God madder and madder.

What does that mean? Is that like consumating a marriage up the bum? "Annulment is a legal procedure for declaring a marriage null and void. Annulment differs from divorce where the court ends an otherwise legal marriage on a specific date" From Wikipedia.org It's kind of like the marriage never happened. typo [Edited 7/27/06 8:11am]

I'm curious...what would you call it? that's a good question. Unfortunally, the album new is still in the scribbles on paper stage. So I might call it taking notes. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.

My guess is: there will be a new Prince CD released in the autumn. And there will be no (world) tour in the summer.
I have the feeling Prince is tired off 3121. I mean he has been working on and promoting this CD for 2 years now. Combined with the rumours that the JW-movement wasnt so happy with 3121, the shutdown of his website, and the fact that Manuela wants to divorce of for him, it might be plausible that Prince is thinking: screw this 3121-thing, and i have personal shit, i have to make a record that shows were i am standing RIGHT NOW. I mean, Prince has done things like this in the past. Around the World in a day was allready finished when Prince was touring for Purple Rain. The Black Album was withdrawn and within halve a year Prince recorded and released Lovesexy. Emancipation didnt turn out to be the critical and commercial succes he hoped for, and quickly after that he released New Power Soul. Prince isnt following the path many 'older' stars make: acts like the Rolling Stones, U2 and REM release a record about every 4-5 years, go on a world tour, and then keep quit for a few years. Prince never had that kind of 'patience'. So maybe we will have a new Prince record before the end of year.

Well, right before the club closed there was a new song up that was said to have been recorded recently at Paisly Park. So this news could very well be true.

I can only imagine how many songs he might right for one album. However, If Prince was to put "feel better take pills" or what ever the name of that "new song" was on his new album, then I would be well aware that it is over. Well, maybe between 3121 and the new one we'll be able to compile one good album!

I Know we won't. Man, you're transparent! It's pretty obvious you don't work for Prince, at Paisley Park or anywhere near MN. And you haven't "taken notes" and aren't on the inside in any way. You're just a bored guy at home on his computer.
