Doesnt the MJ fiasco make Prince's stance on the industry even more right?

Prince said it over 5 years ago and and got ripped. Now MJ sayd it - and far less eloquently - and people look back and think "hey, maybe Prince haad something when he was using the symbol" or "that independent experiment at NPG may be more of a sucess that I thought". Food for thought for the unenlightened, perhaps.

Prince has now made it o.k. for other Artists to Speak up against the Music Industry. I remember so many things Prince has said in comments. 1 time he said IF U believe in God U will not be Afraid. Another thing he said was when asked by Jerome if he was Afraid of things in UTCM he said I'm Not Afraid Of Shit! Prince was and is a Natural Born Leader and someone in the Fore-Front. He was Never Afraid to be Different. He took A lot of Chances. I really Respect that. And he's definitely into it for the Art and not the Money. Like he Said Money and Art Don't Mix. he's so right! He's The Absolute Best! Such a Brilliant,Learned Man. I sometimes ask God Why didn't U make more Men like Him?

Yeah it does.It seems more and more artist are complaining about record company deals. So yeah i guess he should be getting some kind of credit 4 leading the movement. The slave thing on his face after publicly signing a 100 million dollar deal was not a smart move though and that's what got him chewed out.

Prince Brought Up Important Rights for His Masters.but Michael Jackson though not only gets His Masters but He also has 50% of ATV Publishing that Beatles Catelog&50% of Sony Acts as well.IMHO Michael Jackson May Have Pulled the Smartest Move Ever on the Business Tip in the Biz.I figure if a Artist is gonna Record for a Company that Long&Be that Much of a Bread Winner for them they should be Rewarded&MJ is.I Hope He hangs on to it all.Prince,James Brown&Little Richard before Him all Brought up strong Points but Michael Jackson took it to a whole different level.in that Biz it's all about the Publishing Game.Paul Mccartney use to Be Signed to Columbia/Sony&one of the things He got in His Contract was Publishing Rights of other Artists as Part of Signing there. He Schooled MJ on the Game&MJ ran with it.if Mike hangs on to the Catelog&Passes it on to His Family then He will Be the NAT Turner of the Music Business. He will have truly Upset the Slave-Master.I just hope He holds on to it all.MJ as Rev.Al Sharpton is the Best Person to come out&Speak on this Matter IMHO.it speaks Volumes because you take "Thriller"&"Bad" Alone the Record Company made 700 Plus Million off that MJ got 150 at most.that is Pennies Compared to What He Brought to the Company.so He may Have the Last Laugh??MJ has Leverage Versus His Company Unlike Many Artists.

lol

Actually, Sharpton is distancing himself from some of Mike's comments. Particularly about Mottola being a racist. Apparently even Sharpton has his limits.

Motalla screwed MJ over, MJ got pissed and made some stupid ass comments, trying to cover it up with a racist industry spin. So he xperienced the downside of contracts, don't think that will stop him from signing a new one when he can make a few more million$. If he has anything to go by, legally, he should sue Sony, if not he should shut up and prove them wrong with a new album, on a new label.

Dont sign a f%$&ing record contract if you are not happy with the conditions...
its a case of multi-millionaires who can't deal with the ego adjustment required when they arent the biggest sellers anymore... I found both men's comments and actions childish and embarrassing.

Prince never said he was a follower...just that it's BETTER to b one. I'm sure his stance as a LEADER is very taxing on him...

Why is it so hard for some of you to believe that Prince was right on this matter? I knew he was right when all of this happened in 92/93.

Signing a contract is not going to make the situation any better or worse.

Besides, Prince was more theatrical about the whole thing (writing "slave" on his cheek, for example - the context being sufficiently ambiguous as to tie in with record companies definition of a master tape duplicating machine - they are known in the trade as "slaves"), without being so oficially vociferous about it nor threatening to drag a "dream team" of lawyers into the equation, claiming to be a victim of "racial" discrimination by any particular party, naming names and being downright hypocritical, etc, etc,...that stuff by MJ was just dumb and plain stupid..

Why dopeople come on here to nail prince.. He had a shitty on when he was primed for striking gold nuggets having had to well selling albums d pearls and symbol in europe anyway i do nt know about us he played his first wembley stadium over hear played maine rd manchester and celtic stadium. then he got pissed a big risk the way the albums had ahieved critacal and commercial acclaim from there which ever direction he took, in 93 he would have had the backing of the music buyers.

He was the top man then came the warner thing yet that said he had a number 1 single from the gold album which did well but could have done better had there not been all this

Brits slag pince as weird but when theve been to show they had a different outlook on him my brother and a couple of other anti princers realise when they hear you playin s ott emancipation or his d and pearls lp how many songs they recognise and like. prince i salute u you could have said nothing but u stood up fair do`s u owe your beginings to warner but thats it.

Maradona was a gifted football player, perhaps the best there's ever been since Pele, until he became slow and fat (in word, deed and spelling ability) as a direct result of taking too many drugs...
