It was an honest song. Instead of his mindgames, back mouthing and what not, he makes a simple request. However I've often wonder if Prince wrote it to himself. Because assuming truth on the part of the oppiset being truth, I can't help wonder if Prince wasn't just playing with himself. This holds true even now. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop. | |

whats yours??? You haven't formed an opinion? You're torn? Let me help you out. IT'S THE BEST SONG P HAS DONE IN THE LAST 10 YEARS. Point blank. His last great one. Although there are 4 other fantastic songs on that album like Comeback, Don't Play Me is the one that just has the touch of casual genius we used to tke for granted from him. Love the way he plays with the double meaning of the title phrase. So many great moments in it "I've been to the mountain top and it ain't what you say" always makes me think of his brief moment in 84-5 when he must have put the fear of God into MJ's ass with Purple Rain. | |
