A hundred percent Italian silk imported Egyptian lace,
Nothin' compares to your lovely face. That line always made me say "Wow". It's like... Prince is rambling, trying to dig down and thing of all the things he considers precious and lovely... but even THAT doesn't compare. That line... and ADORE... are LEGENDARY. That line probably locked me up, and made me a lifelong fan... dare I say... 19 years ago. The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else! |

I think Prince is KING when it comes to "lines of beauty"
here's one fave of mine "U're the reason I took a rope and lassoed the moon 2 prove that when it comes 2 u there's nothing I won't do... I'd stare in2 the sun if u would be mine It's not so great a leap since 2 all others I am blind I am blind" ok technically that's 2 lines but....to me there's not one with out the other...and it's the way he sings these 2 lines that kills me!
