Chaos and Disorder I've been listening to this album non stop for a few days now, and I've gotta wonder.. what the HELL is wrong with everyone who hates this album? Just because it was "Intended 4 Private Use" and it's simply contract filler to WB does not instantly mean it's a bad album. People love the song "Fury" on 3121, but say this cd is uninspired crap. WTF? Chaos and Disorder is nothing BUT "Fury-esque" songs.
I don't understand all the hate for this rockin album. I'd like to see more rock/blues like this from Prince. | |

I also like Chaos and Disorder. It's his most rocky album. It shows the wild guitar side of Prince. Never mind what people say or write. Rely on your own taste. | |

This album sounds like it's been recorded and rush released in a day, but that's the whole charm of it. It sounds like a demo and there is only a couple of tracks I dislike. | |

It truely is one of his best works. It is when he stops over thinking everything. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop. | |

I don't understand all the hate for this rockin album. I'd like to see more rock/blues like this from Prince. I love the loose, fresh, underproduced and throwaway quality of a lot of the material on this album and the guitar work is great. To it's credit, it sounds like it was made over a couple of days. And on another album, "Dinner With Delores" would be considered an instant classic. The song's so well-written with an interesting metaphor of the music business (and Warner). The jaded bitterness on this album P has with the world, his career, the business is seething and is a return to some of his punk/new wave (ie Dirty Mind) leanings. A couple of the songs do feel tacked on though (that crappy song with the rap). Spin Magazine ranked this album as one of the years most underrated. | |
