Had big fun! You see? That's what I don't get. I've been through heaven and hell on this earth, I've been low and high. I've come away with one idea over all. If you're not having fun, you're doing something wrong. That's Love, to have fun all the time but not at the expense of others. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

For me, LOVE has been putting others before myself. Not that I don't love myself, but when I love someone, their happiness comes before my own. I'm not sure how this relates to my love for Prince. I guess I show my love for him when I buy his albums and concert tickets, even when I'm broke, because it will make him happy. NO ROOM FOR FORM by RUMI
On the night when you cross the street From your shop and your house To the cemetery You'll hear me hailing you from inside The open grave, and you'll realize How we've always been together. I am the clear consciousness-core Of your being, the same in Ecstasy as in self-hating fatigue. That night, when you escape your fear of snakebite And all irritations with the ants, you'll hear My familiar voice, see the candle being lit, Smell the incense, the surprise meal fixed By the lover inside all your other lovers. This heart tumult is my signal to you igniting in the tomb. So don't fuss with the shroud And the graveyard dust. Those get ripped open and washed away In the music of our final meeting. And don't look for me in human shape, I am inside your looking. No room For form with love this strong. Beat the drum and let the poets speak. This is the day of purification for those who Are already mature and initiated into what love is. No need to wait until we die! There's more to want here than money And being famous and bites of roasted meat. Now, what shall we call this new sort of gazing house That has opened in our town where people sit Quietly and pour out their glancing Like light, like answering? from the abundance of the mind my mouth speaks, teaching the pure heart WISDOM. God chides those whom He loves the most.

I want to add only that I agree with what purpledisc is saying. That P's music was there-through everything. The ups and downs, the in between. Listening to his music, thinking about his music was intimate and personal.

The first time I ever really understood Love and that Love is God was an experience I had with my girlfriend. Minds outta gutters please.
This may sound corny but it was a lightbulb for me. I saw her and her cat (and I mean the soulmate cat, you don't want to hear about the stories, just trust me) laying on the bed staring at each other with these unbelievable looks on their faces. Contentment, trust, safety and unconditional caring. The energy was palpable. Only they could understand how they felt about each other. They literally took care of one another. She made sure he had this feeling that they shared everday. He did the same for her. I'll never forget that moment. I've understood what truly unconditional Love is about. To me, that energy between them is God (or whatever you want to name this life force we all have) that Love is God. That is the energy we are all supposed to experience in our lives. When her cat recently died, I learned another lesson about how much unconditional love hurts when it is gone. I had come to understand all this through the 14 years I'd known him. I'll get off the couch now and leave a check with ya'lls receptionist.

As musician I admire great ones....I like look how they play, how they arrange songs and try 2 learn the more I can. I feel it 4 my favourite ones Prince, Franco Battiato, Caparezza, Pink Floyd, Keith Jarret, etc..... but 4 Prince the feeling is deeper....

If you say Love can't be explained, then I will not try, for you will not believe what it is I can say about it. However, the truth is, will a little self understanding, elequence and ability to try, anything real can be explained. If the explaination is murky or unavilable, one should automaticly question the reality of anything. That includes Love. Prince may have trouble expressing such things. It is only because he's afraid of what will be once the truth has left his lips. That does it,I'm running to the market and getting a RED PEN!!!! [Edited 7/27/06 20:34pm]
