When a movie is over, do you stand up and announce that "it's over" or do you get up and walk out? Just wondering.
u know there was a time when i use to get real excited about P; albums, tours, etc.. not anymore, he is still odd as ever even more so now who is on career destruction path which can't be stopped and it seems he could give a shit either.. let's face it he hasn't put out a good album since TGE, the music he puts out now is just plain cheesey from lyrics and boring sprinkled with some gems here and there. it's also he doesn't really care about us..his fans. What he needs to do, take a couple years off, find himself or a really good shrink and get it together, then make a "comeback".At this rate he'll being playing Vegas with Tom Jones and Tony Bennet Did you ever stop and wonder if perhaps what's changed is not only Prince, but you too? It's so much easier to blame your inability to be excited on something external than to accept that it could be you. The tone of your post is so much more than a fan wishing an artist would take a different path. You seem to have so much more invested. Perhaps you too should check out that "really good shrink". Damn. I love you guys. At least you're honest. The point is, avasdad, you just miss him. He doesn't owe you anything though. It's his uniqueness as an artist that has us coming back for more. Do you have that love/hate syndrome going on when you feel he's not giving you want you want musically? Well that's because he's giving you what he wants musically and when he feels like it. Get my point?
There's no other artist like him in my opinion. In the meantime, while you're waiting for another album or tour to drop, go visit some relatives, read a book, go see a play, listen to another artist's music, exercise, maybe seek therapy, that BPFS is working on you that's what that is, you just need a hug that's all It's ok, we're right there with you, that's why you're here. For goodness sakes, just go out and live your life. The Purple One will be back and you'll be waiting in line like the rest of us at his next concert. See ya there, okay? So stop kidding yourself, cause I bet you'll be the first one in line [Edited 7/21/06 21:28pm] [Edited 7/21/06 21:32pm]

Prince wouldn't know enough to say enough because he ain't there. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

been around long enough to be convinced the artist deeply cares about his fans. the gravity of it might even blow your mind . . .
i'm just shocked anyone's dissin' 3121. i think it's such a great cohesive all around fine piece of commercial work. i love it cause there's somethin' on there for everyone's taste. almost like he's trying to please everyone, and i'd give him major props for fulfilling that intent w/his unique & everlasting savoir faire.

i used to do all the crazy stuff back in the day, like stand in line overnight for some tickets that didn't go on sale until 10:AM. but as i got older, that became less and frequent. UNTIL, in March of this year, when i got to dance on stage with the man himself. ME--surounded by Prince, Tamar & The Twinz...shoot, i could have been hit by a bus and hung from a cliff by my fingernails, and you wouldn't be able to get this shit-eating grin off my face.
so to answer your question--we all have our Prince ups and downs--but usually we come back for more. (we're gluttons for punishment) you look better on your facebook page than you do in person

Besides... even if he adhered to every request greedy bastids still wouldn't be happy. We(the fans) have a business relationship with P. He creates music. We either buy it or we don't. I bet P regrets the day he decided to call his fans, fam(short for family)...because there seems to be quite a few people that seriously think that they have a personal relatioship with the man. Cult Following is a better word than Fam.

In the past, Prince´s albums were unique, they pointed to the future, not to the past or to the trends. Of course I like some tracks of 3121, but I understand why people dont fall in love for it.

As for your 1st point doesn't that apply for everyone here?? Please, I bet yo azz will be in line if he does a tour. Plus one less person on line just makes room for one more. Why complain here about it if it's over for you. One less fan won't make a difference in P's life;he's a living legend and will always have fans. You're not taking food or money from P's mouth if you decide not to buy his music. Furthermore, every album he makes is not going to make everyone happy. But he will continue to make the music he wants to put out and he's not forcing anyone to like it. You can take it or leave it and move on. As far as Prince not caring about fans, not true at all. Went to a couple of his shows over the years and he was very much into his fans. Okay,so the club shut down suddenly, big bahooey, that's Prince, always mysterious, does things people question, may not like the way he does it, but this is nothing new. I will be a fan as long as the music is out there. I'm not going to like every song, but the fact that he has a variety of different sounds, when everyone else is sounding the same is what keeps me coming back for more. He is what he is.
