News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.

Kind of a strange question to ask, isn't it? Why would Prince hand over PP to anyone? Is this some 'JWs have to hand over their money and property to the organisation' type of assumption?

Okay, he's not been hanging out there as much as he used to, preferring schmoozing with the celebs in LA recently, but it would seem he pops back now and then, that last demo on the npgmc stated he recorded it at PP the week before.

I don't think Paisley Park has ever been a big money earner for Prince, probably the opposite, although it is a studio for hire and other acts have recorded there, I've never got the impression it is ever booked solid. The big money earner for Prince has surely been the royalties he gets from all his albums and his tours - relative to that, I expect the npgmc is a solid money earner but not in the same numbers.

The trouble with Paisley Park is that it is in the middle of the country. The movers and shakers and main studios of the music biz reside on the west coast in LA and on the east coast in NY, so there were never going to be a massive amount of acts wanting to record in an essentially out-of-the-way place.

Actually, the fact that Minnesota's out of the way for most bands is exactly the draw. No distractions. Part of the reason Nirvana recorded their last album here.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Yeah, bands coming down after fame and success and the hedonistic lifestyle often choose out-of-the-way-no-temptations places to record music. Less so new up-and-commers.

lightning rainbo....yeah its far out there N the boonies~not a lot of places 2 stay that R nearby...naturally Prince was the reason eye considered recording there but the studio's were exceptional!!!! studio A U could set up an entire orchestra & have seperate booths 4 percussion & vocal with a seperate cove 4 piano....my hope was 4 time N studio B ~ alas...it was not 2 B...then cool

....it offered a nice kitchen & 'reclining' areas also....don't know if he still utilizes it but there was a costume/wardrobe spot on the 2nd floor with a mannequin of Prince, bolts of cloth & such 4 tailoring his clothes...what eye saw was an exceptional space that could have held a number of businesses & interests that might have been a phenomenal adjunct 2 all the things Prince professes 2 B N support of....

....eye am what eye am & continue 2 carry the banner of better possibilities N regard 2 the little man ~ Bcuz somewhere obscured deep withN ~ he's got it N him 2 do genuine & wonderous things with his gifts....2 touch lives N a profoundly more positive way....oh well...time allways tells wink
