To Rhondab:

Well then that only tells me that your heart is probably not an okay one.

Besides, even if it's my thread, you can't go around telling me I can't ask this and ask that, I ask what I want to ask.

I don't recall you being my authority figure.

morena77 I never said I was your authority figure and I poised a question in the same manner you did. My heart is fine but on occasion it can use some work because I'm not a perfect person as well as you and anyone else. This is what my response was about.

Your post suggest that if a person comes to the Lord after living a life of sin, you don't feel they can tell you anything and yet Paul killed christians, do you read any of the letters he has written. And Lord knows that we are always talking about Denise Matthews (Vanity) and the changes in her life, you wouldn't listen to her either because of her background. This is what I find "interesting" about your thread and your "question". To me, a hypocrite is someone who is still living a sinful life and yet wants to talk about changing for the Lord, etc but not someone who has left that live behind them.

(I do see in the last part you to mention the backsliders.)

And lastly morena, I've witnessed you at times not treating people with the utmost respect. My question was more about not throwing stones because you haven't had premarital sex, blah, blah, blah when there are other "sins" of the heart that you "may" demonstrate.

I think I find your post self-righteous due to the fact I work with drug addicts, prostitutes, etc. and I know and have seen the power of what God can do in their lives (and mine, i'm no angel) and that God's plan for them maybe is to preach and teach. That's God's plan and not mine.

The time period and social climate in the USA have been very important conditions for JW' faith to flourish in the States and later into the rest of the world.

That is what is so exciting! In fulfillment of scripture
prophecy..."Go therefore and make disciples of people of ALL the NATIONS,
baptizing them...teaching to
observe all the things I have commanded you, and look!
I am with you...until the conclusion of the system of
things."Matt28:19
"And this good news of the Kingdom will be preached in
all the inhabited earth for a witness to ALL the nations
and then the end will come." Matt24:14
So it seems that timing is of the utmost importance.
Coincidence or divine intervention?

. But like I said... what if the JW religion would have been born in the Middle Ages? Would it really have been so peacefulll as it is right now?
___

Melody said:
Again, the timing was so important...JWs history has
always been non-violent as prophesied...
"And it must occur in the final part of the days,
the mountain of the house of Jehovah will become
firmly established above the top of the mountains
...and to it ALL THE NATIONS must stream...
They will have to beat their swords into plowshares
and their spears into pruning shears...and study war
no more." Isaiah 2: 1-4

So why would it matter if you would believe in something else than what the Bible teaches...?
Does it really matter if we all read from the same scriptures to know about him/her/it?
___

Melody said:

It only matters if the Bible is really inspired by God. Because if it is,
then he has given very specific
instructions on what he requires.
And if he is indeed the
Creator he has every right to make the rules.
___

Abrazo said:
so the Kuran or the Bhagavad Gita are not inspired by this same Creator?
___

Melody said:
Only if they are in complete harmony. God is not a God
of confusion or contraditions.

Abrazo said:
I also think that if the Creator created us all, then he wouldn't judge that one or more of his children are more right and look more like him than the others do.
A father of children shouldn't tell his children who are more like him. He should tell them they are all a bit like him and all equally his children.
___

I could not agree more.
"...God is not partial but in every nation the man
that fears him and works righteousnes is acceptable
to him.
Acts 10: 34,35
It seems that God has permitted mankind to search for
many years...to try different paths...to seek the
truth. At some point in time He would intervene and
reestablish true worship.
God himself will do this. Mankind will have to be
willing to listen.
As you said, there is some truth to be found in almost
all religions...yet the restoration of the complete
body of truth is at hand!
The most outstanding support for bible truth is in the
fulfillment of its prophecies.

Respectfully yours,
Sens..
