Woohooo!

I got my music editor up and running again and finally found out how to re-track one of my favourite Prince & The Revolution albums!

You might remember, on the CD release the tracking leaves lots to be desired. Anotherloverholenyohead starts with a slight sound of the last sound of Kiss, Girls And Boys started with the last tone of Under The Cherry Moon etc. Just four of the 12 tracks were RIGHT.

I was especially annoyed with the intro medley of Christopher Tracy's Parade, New Position and I Wonder U, as I have my own personal thoughts on were these songs start and end. Certainly not the versions as presented on the CD release of Parade.

So I copied, pasted and cut my way through these songs and now, with the exception of that hard to get by 7" edit of Mountains ( http://www.prince.org/msg/7/196569 ) I got my Parade playlist ready!

PS I just ripped it! Woohoo. And why is this Mountains 7" version so important? Because it is UNEDITED, as opposed to the album version, where Do U Lie? is segued into it. TO be exact, the scream that is faded out is heard without the little French girl's voice.

I mean, Old Friends 4 Sale (original version), All My Dreams, Neon Telephone, the demo's of Love Or Money, Wendy's Parade... all cool.

What there ever a logical reason "Love or money" was left off the Soundtrack, when it actually was a song in the Movie?

No. an instrumental Mia Bocca was there too. He actually scored LOADS of cool instrumental stuff for that movie, but it was never released.

It's a Prince thing. Ask Kevin Smith.

PS, I am already glad he actually RELEASED Or $...

So much stuff from those sessions went off to gather dust. Remember the shallow hull of a song called An Honest Man on Crystal Ball?

There is actually another version of that song, a full, fleshed out version, that is SO beautiful, it has the power to make you cry.

I never noticed the tracking because I listen to Parade from start to finish.

Now, Lovesexy, I noticed the tracking issues.

Between this and the sticky, I feel like watching UTCM again!
