what was the very first prince single released as a cassette single.
or what are all the cassette singles from prince.

i am currently adding (again) to my collection and i am working on getting all the cassette and cassette maxi singles

I'm guessing it was Sign "O" The Times, which I had on maxi-cassette (including the album version of SOTT and the extended 10+ minute version of La, La, La, He, He Hee). I haven't seen anything earlier than that.

It all depends on what you would class as a Single, Maxi-Single or E.P.

This '1999' Cassette from 1983 is more of an E.P. in my opinion, because it contains purely album tracks:

However, 'Twelve Inches On Tape' was released in the U.K. at the same time as the vinyl Maxi-Single of 'When Doves Cry' in 1984 and featured the non-album track '17 Days'.

That's what I remember as well. In the States anyway.
