Did you ever phone Paisley Park?

When you were younger?
I remember when i was younger I phoned them up i was about 14.
I hadnt thought of anything to say if anyone did pick up so when someone did i panicked and spouted a whole load of shit down the phone about being really into Prince and how i was only 14 and if they had a phone number for the Prince fanclub boxed
Whoever was on the other side of the phone responded with "Screw this" and hung up. lol
I wondered for ages if maybe i had spoken to Prince and i hoped it wasnt because the guy on the other end was really cheeky.

Anyway im just wondering if he was pissed of because that might have been the 40th similiar phone call he had answered that hour.
So come on admit it! who else phoned PP up?

You know what that idea had never crossed my mind.....until now

I did copy the phonecall idea from the Cream maxi single and phoned a few people in the telephone directory pretending to be from Princes record company and that they were on the radio...if they coudl give me "the phrase that pays" they woudl win a trip to MPLS and an intimate gig with Prince.

I always felt a right git afterwards especially when I got through to a REAL Prince fan who was devistated....I stopped after that. disbelief

Snap

nope, i never called Paisley but a couple times i called his managers
Andre's too
and surprisingly with good results
i doubt it'd work these days
i got the scoop that the SOTT tour wasn't coming to the States
i was finally old enough to see a tour and he wasn't bringing it!!
"absence makes the heart grow fonder" is what the guy said
before that (1985-6), i used to get the scoop on what singles were coming out and when
back in '85-86 when i called Andre's manager (Owen Husney, I think)
i was told that he was working on a new album after he finished with other projects
but it seems Jody and others kept him too busy -- we have yet to see another album
oh yeah, and i received a couple great responses back from Vanity and Tyka to some fan-mails
i'll share those another time on a thread about fanmail

News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.

Yes I did in 1996. I was unprepared too. A female answer the phone, I mentioned employment and she gave me the fax number to send resume. I was floored. I called there on the 1st day that I moved to twin cities from the shelter. Wow. I have thought of that in years. I did not send resume though...I don't drive.

Yes. In 1988.

It was a very short conversation along the lines of:

Hello, is Prince there?
I'm afraid he's very busy today. Whom shall I say has called?
Justin from... England.
I'll be sure to let him know. Thank you.

I never called again.
