Have you ever had a strange dream that included Prince?

Here’s mine if you care to try to make sense of it.


Okay here it is. Prince and I were brothers to King Love. Now as many times before the King ordered us out into the garden to work, and as before Prince told him he would then spend most the day under bridge daydreaming while even know I bitch about it, I went out and worked. Upon payday I gladly took my pay. Prince however went up to the King and said “father please give me all of what will be mine so that I may leave”. Sadly Our Father Gave it to him, and Prince went out sold it all and went to a far off land. After some time word got back to Love that his wayward son had spend all that he had and he was going around to servants homes begging for a crumb. So King Love told me to find him and give to him this message. Son, I know you have spent all that I gave you but please come home and live under the house of Love, here you will not have to beg. So I did. Some time later Our Father told me that he was on the road back, and requested of me to fetch the fattest calf, but I said to King Love that I had already prepared the feast of my brother’s return and that it was ready and waiting. Love looked at me and said I am proud of you son, you are a good brother, and your brother should count himself lucky. And then King said, let me ask you this son, why have you done all this for a brother who just took from you, and I was about to say why. When there was a voice from over the hill, and I looked quickly toward the King to speak and as I opened up my mouth to answer, I woke up.


What does that mean?

dunno but first thing that comes to mind is
" the truth comes like a thief in the night "



i've had the odd dream or two about the mister but this one cracked me up.

he offered me the bottom drawer at his place, then asked me to pay $200 bucks for it and give the money to Mani, who was sittin in the background with her face blacked out

i used to dream about prince a lot around the time of the Gold.Come.Exodus
era.

i'd dream that i was in stores and find bootleg albums or new releases and
listen to them in the store. complete songs. sounding amazing.

then i would wake up





and i once dreamt that i was out rabbit hunting with prince and he kept
getting his high heels caught in the fields so we had to give up and go
home where he cooked lasagne whilst i cut the heels off his entire stash
of boots. he would come out of the kitchen once in a while and look at
the shoes going "ay, that's good. no more heels. that's good" as he had
another sip from his can of beer

Yes.

I have this re-occuring dream where he's angry at his record company and he changes his name to a symbol releasing wierd songs and stuff, then changing his name back to Prince, but becoming a Jehova's witness and releasing wierd songs and stuff.


...Then I wake up screaming.

Kind of a Willy Wonka scenario. It's back in the days of the Uptown NPG store. There's been an announcement that Prince will be coming out of the store at noon to make an important statement. A crowd is gathered in the street out front.
Prince comes out solo, and says something like, "I have been deceitful towards you for many years. I have a terrible heroin addiction, and I have to leave you all now." Something like that - on some shame, mystery, and recovery vibe. Anyway, after making his short statement, he turns and walks east down the center of Lake Street. He seemingly intends to just walk out of town. Everybody is stunned and in dead silence, watches his small figure fade into the horizon (which is like, Lake and Lyndale, but whatever)...

I've had so many Prince dreams since becoming a fan at age 13 in 1995. I can't remember all of them, but one is really sweet, and sticks in my memory.


When I was 15, I had a dream that Prince was my Dad! (I grew up without a father, and have always wanted one) Believe it or not, he was a totally normal dad. We lived in a nice house in a nice neighborhood. One day, I came home from school and he was dressed in a dark green sweatshirt and black running shorts! He had on some sneakers, and was preparing to go for a jog! (Can you even imagine him in that?) He had the neat and clean haircut and goatee from the Emancipation era, and looked very cute. He promised me that after he got back, we would spend some time together, then off he went.

Later that evening, he and I were sitting on his bed and watching TV. His room had a burgundy wall, and the bed had a gold comforter on it. I don't know what we were watching, but we were laughing. Then, Mayte came in with a giant bowl of popcorn, and we all watched TV together. It was a fatherless child's dream come true! Well, until I woke up...

I was in some kind of room with Prince, there were strings of pearls all over the walls. Prince was sitting with that lace eye cover on and black pants, no shirt. He insisted on sharing a lolipop with me--like he'd lick it, then me, then him--and at some point, a dollop of whipped cream appeared on my finger and he licked it off. It was like a clash of 3 or 4 different Prince eras!

But it was kind of funny.

I had nightmare about Prince. I was crying when I woke up.

I dreamt I was at a show put on by an ex graduate of my local university. Prince was part of the lineup, he played 'don't play me', and half way through the song he started doing impersonations of toys, culminating in him driving around on the stage in a tank with two side mounted cannons that were actually trombones. I slapped the concert organizer on the ass. She was happy.

Every now and then. I remember a few years back, the dream I had was me riding the city bus in NYC and Prince was the bus driver. He was wearing the MTA Bus uniform and cap too. I was shocked seeing him drive the bus through Times Square but he was cool to talk to but I have no idea what we were talking about. This was somewhere between the Rave and Rainbow Children era,
