What outtakes do you feel have/had the best commercial appeal? Tons of great unreleased tracks have floated around over the years. As great as many of them are,not all of them may have been suitable for radio play. Which songs do you think have or had the most single potential?
BTW,I think Open Book could have been a huge hit,

Err, yeah stuff like Open Book and I Hear Your Voice have a very polished radio-friendly sound.
Some of the most popular unreleased tracks, I don't think would make that good singles - say Moonbeam Levels or Rebirth Of The Flesh. On the other hand, something like Wonderful Ass would've made a great single. I'm imagining it as part of The Dream Factory and it being the 2nd single or something. Ahhh, that's my game of 'what if' done for the day.

That would have been a hit. He sits on really great stuff Moonbeam Levels is another one. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Open Book and I Hear Your Voice were released; by Jevetta Steele and Patti LaBelle, respectively. Whenever this question is posed, it's always suggested that tracks that have already been released should be re-released by Prince but the likelyhood of that happening is very small. I know it happened once with Tevin Campbell's version of Shhh in 1992 and Prince's version of Shhh in 1995, but have there been any other times?
As far as legtimately unreleased tracks making an impact on today's pop music landscape, it would be hard to predict the success, but I would love to hear Large Room With No Light on today's music playlists.

"Heaven" and a complete album in that style would have been a huge hit following "Purple Rain". Andy is a four letter word.

"Empty Room" "The first time I saw the cover of Dirty Mind in the early 80s I thought, 'Is this some drag queen ripping on Freddie Prinze?'" - Some guy on The Gear Page

That's EXACTLY what I was gonna say. But which version? I like both, but the one with the piano intro reminds me of "All by my self" for some reason. Lance is SO a bottom
