There is this one version that is real long and is raw sounding, without wendy and lisa talking and non of that talk about poor poor lonley computer. It also doesn't have any synths at the beginning it's more like guitar rock. Prince is cussing, saying tell me, what the fuck is going on instead of what the hell is going is on. I have it on tape. If you have'nt heard it before, you should.

Yeah, that's the one with about a minute and a half of hypnotic guitar distortion and yelping at the end.

I still like the finished, unedited version (12+ mins) the best.

This raw demo is great, if only to hear the origin.

If only we could hear the first take on all of Prince's songs...

The 17 minute version coming out on the remastered Purple Rain set in December.

My favorite version is from the deleted scene in Purple Rain where P is playing Computer Blue on stage, and he invites Francis L up to accompany him on piano. When it comes time to play the solo P starts with the guitar, and then Francis L starts bangin the piano really hard and loud. P calls Francis out and Francis has to remind him he ripped off the solo from him to begin with. Then P challenges Francis to a duel right then and there and P gets to his pistol first (because he's cheating) and shoots Francis in the head. Then he stages it to make it look like a suicide attempt. But up until that they were rockin! Of course this didn't make the final edit but I have a copy of this scene. If you would like, you can orgnote me and i will send you a copy in betamax format.

He should just release the 100 PR outtakes
and make his money THAT way. Then give new music free on the site.
