Livin 2 Die (Our Lives) Found this song. The title is "Livin 2 Die (Our Lives)".
It's about 3:30. No question it's P. Is this the real title? Catchy tune. Lyrics: "Look at how we're livin" "Check out how we're Livin" "Is this really livin" "Are we really livin" "Are we livin 2 die?" This was a re-arrangement of a song written by: T. Hammer and Sandra St.Victor and shelved along with her 1993 "Sanctuary" project. You can hear a sample of her (slower) version on the web site: http://www.sandrastvictor.com/site.htm

So I'm assuming "How We Livin" is the correct title. Sandra St Victor shared some songs she had written / dco-written with Prince with a view to collaboration. Prince took the compositions and used them as a the basis for some of his work. So, the songs are penned by Prince, as well as others. However, Sandra St Victor had previously understood that they would collaborate at some stage in the studio on them, whereas Prince's methodology basically cut her out after she had shared the tape with him. The songs were recorded in the 90's and Sandra St Victor gets a gredt on Emancipation for her contribution on Soul Sanctuary. Other co-writers did not originally get credit, although the situation was later rectified by Prince for copyright and publishing purposes. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift. |

Even though "How We Livin" is the correct original title for the song when Sandra St. Victor wrote it, it's more than likely that Prince would've given it a new modified title when he recorded his interpretation of it. As he did with all the other Sandra St. Victor material he recorded. | |
