what kind of deal does prince have with universal? ...or did have with columbia? specifically, roughly what percentage of profits from album sales is he getting? im guessing its something more than the very low major label standard? [Edited 7/6/06 19:14pm] | |

moderatorwell obviously. i was looking for something in the way of a rumor. its known how much people on certain labels (touch & go, koch) get, dont see why it wouldnt be possible for someone to know roughly how much p is getting | |

Being a musician myself and knowing a little bit about the industry, it is very probable that his deal was mainly for packaging and distribution only, giving Universal a certain percentage of profits from the retail sales of the album.
Since there is virtually no radio play this is the most likely scenario. If Universal were involved in the promotion aspect he would be getting radio play to some degree. | |
