Not counting until after the first few albums. The don't count. I mean after the whole Dirty Mind/Controversy/sexual/spiritual/androdgenous persona come into effect. When did Prince's public persona seem its most down to earth to you?

hmmm, i've been seeing cracks in his freaky armor here and there since the days of RAVE/hit'n'run tour. stuff like prince wearing basketball jerseys, flip-flops (with socks rolleyes ), kinda looking more conservative in some interviews...he's still more stylish than the average schmoe, but the freak flag's definitely been flying at half mast over the past few years.

Also , the interview he did with Chris Rock on HBO several years ago. He seemed real relaxed, and at ease, and showed his funny side (he can be a riot when comfortable).

He seemed chilled out and willing to take the piss out of himself a bit while comfortably conversing with puppets.

Well then, maybe someone should offer to do an interview with him as a muppet or with a puppet. I'd do that for Prince. nod

That would have to be a pay per view EVENT! That would be classic!

Heiress

i've caught what are believe are "glimpses" of the normal prince, which must likely exist in his private moments.

say, in the holy river video, when he says he missed nothing except the time, and indicates his ring. that's real happiness on his face. saw some of that in the game pictures w/ mani too... in the MSNBC (or was it C-SPAN??) interview of 2004, he seemed pretty calm & normal too, even while badgering the interviewer to sing.
