I don't think it was ever released.
I have never seen it or seen it mentioned anywhere. I got the 13 min version off of Napster "back in the day" but someone has since told me that it is a dj/fan mix. It is an enjoyable version seeing as 17 days is such a cool (& short) song to begin with. If not an authentic out take, the 13 min version would basically be loops made from instrumental passages of 17 days mixed into the actual song to stretch out the legnth of it. Somewhere in there the "Orgasm" clip that we know from the end of the Come album is overdubbed onto the 17 days groove as well as some extra kick drum beats near the end of the 13mins. out take or not? Maybe I should drop Goldnigga 2000 an orgnote about this one! lol, if anyone would know for sure, I bet it would be him That's the best I can do for you... BlackMF, I have a file that I picked up from the internet and it is about 13 minutes long -- I'm trying to figure out if this is a "dj remix" of some sort or a quasi-official boot, or what. I can't seem to find where there was an official release of an extended version of 17 Days, though. It is pretty cool, I hear some portions of "Orgasm" guitar licks in this song. La, la, la

There are indeed two official versions of 17 Days.
One version is a shorter "radio" mix. It can be found on the US Warner Bros. 7" plain label for jukebox and air play. The longer version is on the 12" and the regular 7". If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

No,
there was no official extended version of 17 days. The 13min version is a fan-mix, there's been a lot of dj/fan mixes on the net, and pressed onto white labels over the last couple of years.

If my memory serves me well, '17 Days' had been originally slated as a track for the Vanity 6 project, before Prince had a change of heart and reclaimed the song (in pretty much the same way he reclaimed 'Manic Monday' from Apollonia 6).
As far as I know, the Vanity 6 version has not done the rounds anywhere as an outtake, although it certainly exists as a demo somewhere (in Prince's vault), just like the original studio demos of 'Baby, I'm a Star' and 'We Can Fuck'. Prince allegedly used the original backing track from the latter when he re-recorded the song as 'We Can Funk', for the 'Graffiti Bridge' project. "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. True, 17 Days was originally sung by Brenda (hence the smoking reference). It even survived unchanged onto the first version of the Apollonia 6 album, which included the following tracks; The Glamorous Life Take Me With U Sex Shooter 17 Days Manic Monday Oliver's House Next Time Wipe The Lipstick Off Your Collar
