Of course! Prince rocks my world like no other. Looks so goooood in person. If it comes out of his mouth I will buy it because I just love his music!!!

Yes. I normally don't like funk/rock/soul except for when it's Prince (and possibly PM Dawn). I don't like any of the music on the Rainbow Children but I listen to it because it's part of the Prince legend. I'd say something stupid like if Sign o the Times was by anyone else, I probably wouldn't like it, yet nobody but Prince could have made that album. He is the God of Musicology.

Prince is the exception to the rule based on the following:

He's the only musician I own music/concert videos of. (sorry,I ended that with a preposition)

Prince is the only musician whose website I subscribe to. (see above)

He's the only short guy-he's taller than myself- I'd consider dating (hook up?) if I were single. Although, if he approached me when I WAS single with the high heels, make-up, and outfits, I'd be signaling to the bouncer for help. I said CONSIDER.

Prince is the only vegetarian I'd be tempted to date. (I'm a big game hunter) Refer to the forum on "Is prince a vegan vs vegetarian". HE'd BETTER LIVE UP TO HIS REPUTATION. nuff said...

Prince is the only musician my husband would fly me to Vegas and buy the tickets for his show, anytime. If I'm happy, he's happy!!

i know exactly what you mean, i always start by naming my 'other' favorite artists when asked, then at the very end i feel like i'm almost defending myself by saying prince is by far my favorite and one of the very few i listen too in reguards to pop, funk, r&b, rap, etc, otherwise i'm more into alternative, modern, punk, classic rock etc, he's the only artist that actually spans all of those genres....

I listen to everything but I like Prince cuz its great to see a brotha playing the kind of music he wants and not trying to follow trends. Fortunately for him, he made his mark at a time when artists still had a little more freedom and now he can write his own ticket. If he came out today, I doubt if he'd have the same kind of success. He'd definitely have to "play the game" in the industry. Today's music business is all about money and the "black glam" thing died in the 80s. Everybody wants to be a thug now. Even the r&b singers. He'd be stuck in the "neo-soul" and you see how successful that is.

Absolutely... I'm an 18 year old girl from Detroit, who's other favorite artist is DMX.. Prince is my exception to rock, liking tall muscular men, and buying CD's in general.. when I bought 3121 i listened to the whole album straight thru about 5 times... thats saying something for me I usually have a short attention span when it comes to music I haven't heard before.

He fits many roles--funk, rock, jazz, singer/songwriter, genius, multi instrumentalist--that I'm way into.

He is the exception in the "r&b pop star singer/dancer" category--the way he could be compared to Michael, Janet, Madonna, even Britney or Justin, or any of the American Idols. I don't own any of that kind of music.

I think he is the only person who dresses the way he does and I find totally sexy. If any other man dressed like him (especially in the past), I think I would run the other way!

I like a variety of music, so that part is not a big deal. But I think he has expanded my musical tastes through the years. Because of him, I have listened to and appreciated more different types of music.

Even the sexually explicit stuff from the past. I became a fan in 1983 at age 16 and I never really delved into the words of songs before Prince. I don't think I would like someone else singing about that type of stuff. But Prince singing it was fine. (I am glad that he grew out of that, though. I know I am in the minority with this thought!!)

So yes, he is the exception to the rule for me!

prince is the exception to every rule..i love anything he makes not just because hes made it but just because its excellent. im 18 but i want to marry him-i cant think of any other 47 year old men i want to marry

I am really eclectic. I like everything from Curtis Mayfield to Metallica. I love NWA, Ice Cube, DMX, and Eminem. I'm gay, so I LOVE Cher and Madonna. I love Jesus so I love gospel. The reason why I love Prince is because he has tried everyone of the music styles I like, rap, r&b, jazz, pop, rock, alternative, heavy metal, and gospel. The only music he doesnt do is country and I dont like country. However, if Prince or Madonna recorded a country album, I would buy it and listen to it. I am extremely dedicated to these two.
