The Lovesexy look was great - I actually think at the time not many people would have been puzzled - '88 was still a pretty eclectic time for fashion.

Much of the eighties was really 'out there' - I kind of wish those times would return! Then I wouldn't be so self-conscious about going to the supermarket wearing my blue lycra and lace outfit.


But agreed - in the mid nineties Prince looked kind of ill, and was quite psychedelic but not in a good way. It almost became painful to look at the guy...as if his dwindling carer was taking a physical toll.

I'm glad he's looking so well these days, and he's treading the fine line between 'pop star' dress and socially acceptable stuff pretty well if you ask me.

I'm pretty sure there was a stage (80s? 90s?) that he was continually voted into RS's 5 best-dressed AND 5 worst-dressed stars in their annual poll...
