A Most Excellent Career, N'Est Pas?

I propose a serious discussion concerning The Artist's illustrious career; let the wisest of us pretend to be a biographer for the ages: what sort of universe has The Man created for himself? Why do we know that what others call "empty fantasy" is in fact the stuff of life for men of vision (which they are not). Have any of you read a satisfactory account of the man's vision, of the true essence of his genius? Or is he an eloquent enigma to his more devoted fans, and merely a mysterious messiah for the less absorbed? Are we to take him visually only, or should we absorb his being and embrace the modern together with him as few have done before us? Please, contribute freely to this most important and definitive topic!

well, he's a great musician, a really good songwriter, and a decent lyricist -- with flashes of brilliance in each

but as far as him knowing how to hang cabinets, lay tile, repair a car engine, perform open-heart surgery, etc. well then he's not quite the "genius" or "messiah" that some make him out to be. i think we place those in the entertainment field on too high of a pedastal. what Prince does, he does well. but there's many more people than him doing much more amazing things.

But Marge! What if we chose the wrong religion? Each week we just make God madder and madder.

Eye must confess that eye have read several books and essays on Prince, making my knowledge about him somewhat xtensive. 2 me he is a genius no1 comes close 2 him, his very essence fills tha room as he enters. He cannot b denied of his true xceptional talent. Every time he per4ms its perfection down 2 the last note and gesture. His movements r quick, and with them everything seems 2 follow at the same speed. No word can truly describe how magnanimous he is in proportions. Who cares of trivial things such as height? Or what type of shades he wore, or how the color was not bfitting 2 him (let's face it the man nos how 2 dress, despite what tabloids may say!) My language is far 2 limited 2 fully bestow credit 2 a man (if that were all he is) whos has 4 so long worked in the music business and added a chapter in the book of music history, 4ver immortalizing him. A most xcellent career indeed!!! And 4 much more 2 come.Oh how eye love PRINCE (the mere mention of his name sends my heart in2 a flutter!) wink Never could eye say something bad about him not even if eye were beaten in2 a pulp!!!

I do NOT believe that a talent like Prince can be FULLY appreciated while he is alive. Only after he is LONG gone will people see Prince for what he really is, then it will be 2 late. Humans have this really negative trait where we don't appreciate something until it is GONE. Just me 2 cents.
