could Prince- circa 1980's play Prince year 2000 and beyond?

if the 80's are considered the creative pinnacle in prince's career, could he, at the level of musicianship he had then, play N.E.W.S., One Nite Alone, The Rainbow Children, Musicology and 3121?

Yeah, on a technical level, he probably could. But that's like saying "could Raphael have painted as well as modern day graffiti artists?"... kind of a dead end question...

His "level of musicianship" as you call it hasn't really changed that much. I've heard some instrumental demos from the late 70s with Prince on keyboards and it's quite clear that this dude knows what he's doing (as far as scales/modes/chords/music theory etc.)
