I thought the mask looked like Michael Jackson.

They were hand puppet caricatures made by a company called Fluck and Law in Britain. They produced a successful political and pop culture satire show in Britain in the mid-eighties called Spitting Image. They did do a Prince caricature (based on the Purple Rain look) and did a whole song parody just using this puppet. The song was called Black Moustache (they used a very similar melody to Purple Rain) and in it Prince's tongue extended out to mammoth proportions.Just somewhere in the middle,
