Prince ONA? What is your favourite album of 2002 so far?

ONA is ok, but it gets far less spins in my CD than other albums. What is the best in 2002?

For me its gotta to be:

1. Martin Grech: Open Heart Zoo (the tune in the lexus advert). Why? Total trip out zone.

2. The chilli peppers. Why? Such good tunes and production.

I'm currently spinning the new album by Coldplay, and this could make it top of the list yet.

If you don't agree, please let us know what album we should try, and why.

Sorry Prince, following ONA, your school report should read..."Must try harder"...

I have never owned a Springsteen album, but after reading the reviews, this one appeals. Shall I go for it?

Andrew W.K. - I Get Wet

If I had ONA I'm sure it would surpass these albums but I'm not an NPGMC member yet. sad

Some of these albums may have actually been in 2001, but I bought them this year. My favorites so far include:

1.Remy Shand- The Way I Feel
2.Musiq- Juslisten
3.Raphael Saadiq
4.Prince- ONA
5.John Mayer- Room for Squares
6.Phantom Planet

and the Xenophobia album will probably top this list (assuming it's gonna be sent to us soon)

On a side note- my own little album I've started in the past month called "Transitions" will hopefully be one of my favorites of 2003! I'm surprising myself and am just enjoying the ride. Songwriting is a new thing for me, but it's working fairly well so far.

You can never go wrong with The Boss; so Yes go for it.

You should also consider picking up "Born To Run" which IMO is his SOTT (As a Prince fan I ussume you understand I mean his Masterpiece.)

So far, "The Rising" is it for me...I can't get enough of this one. There is not a clunker in the bunch imo, and "World's Apart", "Lonesome Day", "Paradise", and the title track are incredible.

I also picked up the Last Waltz box set from The Band recently. I am a HUGE fan of theirs, and it's great to have the whole show instead of selected songs. The jams at the end and "Don't Do It" were worth the price alone. The sound is a huge improvement as well.

I am not a member of the music club yet so no ONA yet...but I do have the live ONA (thanks to a very cool friend...my trade is one the way in case you read this), and even though its not an official release, it has become one of my faves as well. Especially since I missed the show when he was in my town...

Finally, is the new Coldplay out? I didn't think it was yet. I have heard the new song on the radio but thought it was coming out at the end of August. Love those guys...Parachutes was a very good CD.

Just amazing. Even better that Soft Bulletin.

WEEZER: maladroid is also on my list, even though it is by far their worst album to date. I love Pinkerton. and blue. and green. and maladroid wink

Also, New Tom Waits CDs are excellent.

Well, we can't agree on everything, eh?

I really like the cd and played it a ton when I got it. It's just got a happy feel to it and was nice background music for spring/summer get-togethers. Thinking about it though, it's prolly not the best thing to come out this year, it just hit the spot when I got it.

They do suck live, ps!

My mind is always changing, right now I'm appreciating "Halos and Horns", the new Dolly Parton! redface

I bought alot of older stuff this year.
I'm waiting for the fall releases. I can't wait for all the new music!

Tori Amos: Scarlet's Walk
Bjork: Family Tree Box set, Greatest Hits
Les Claypool: Purple Onion
(Hopefully)Prince: Xenophobia

Wow! Just about all my favorite artists putting out new stuff soon. It's almost too much to bear! Witchery! Free silver! Isolationism!
Chili Sauce.
