Even back to Purple Rain we see Prince warning against drinking - "don't drink that stuff" does he abstain from controlling substances or just keep his use well under control Have you? Love...thy will b done

I don't know if he's had a problem with them or not. Everybody uses some type of drug to make them feel better. beer, pills, weed etc.
That Prince, Vanity 6,Time era was filled with stories of coke outed musicians. He looked as wired as you could possibly get....you figure it out! His drug of choice goes up his nose.

God that James Brown clip is hilarious.
from the glove thrown back at him to not knowing what to play or sing and to the unthinkable, actually falling down along with parts of the set. He must have ran out of there in tears! But it must be many musicians nightmare, having to follow not only James Brown but Michael Jackson. And that song sounded kind of difficult to just jump in on. My Legacy

In fact, if I remember correctly, the book, 'Rock and Roll revealed' - the outrageous lives of Rock's biggest stars, praised Prince and Tina Turner for living a clean life without drugs and drinks and ciggies despite being superstars, don't know much about Turner, but Prince has consistently voiced his opinion against intoxicants, although subtly, through his music. I would like to correct you on Jon Bon Jovi... saw him walk into a toilet with Pink here in Melbourne to rack up... "There comes a road in every man's journey that he's afraid to walk on his own.
I'm here to tell you, I'm at that road. And I would rather walk it with you than walk it alone".

Doing drugs and prophysizing against drugs is similar to wearing bare-ass chaps onstage and simulating sex, and lecturing Alicia Keyes on her use of profanity.

There are tales of the occasional glass of wine as a stimulant (ie for recording Sign) and as an antidepressant (when Baby gregory died). And of course the rumoured E he took to get his Camille/Spooky Electric thing going, but these are probably very isolated.
Prince has probably drunk alcohol at various times in his life, but hardly enough to call him addicted. In facts hes quite anti it. He probably is fully in control of it when he uses these things. Another reason I think he generally ignores drugs and alcohol is that hes a physically small human. At 155cm high and a weight of about 50kg, any sizable quantity of these things would a more severe effect on him than most other people. Maybe he looked Mr T he would be more into it!!! 17 Years ago I made a commitment to Prince

I'd say more like carried out. Kinda like how he was placed on stage. It didn't help MJ provoked JB into calling P on stage in the 1st place. MJ probably knew the circumstances.

I think MJ saw P out there wasted before he got on stage and set him up! Cause he insisted on James calling him up there. But P bombing, that was his own fault. Cocaine is a helluva drug. I swear even when I'm alone I can't watch this and being the fan i am:nuts: you know i ain't never shown it to anyone else.

Whatever MJ's motives it might have been a blessing in disguise for Prince. I'm really speculating here, but the embarrassment might have helped Prince steer clear of future drug abuse.

Maybe I'm mistaken and maybe I'm confusing this with what I saw on Purple Rain but what his dad not an alchoholic and severly abusive to his mom... Maybe thats what steered him away from drugs and alchohol... Either way he is a very sexy and smart man who has learned from his mistakes had he ever experimented with any of it... More power to the Prince! ~*Laura*~
