Technically yes. We all know Janet Jackson is nothing with JJ and TL. The thing is JJam and TL is so incredibly successful on their own I don't know if they would believe that Prince paved the way for them.

people are giving all the credit to prince and as a JJ and jam / lewis fan i find is quite offensive. Some prince fans probably think that he invented the keyboard and guitar as well,

I remember reading that Prince performed What Have U ... er, You Done For Me Lately and ran around the stage shouting 'Who wrote this? Who wrote this?'.

And then I listened to it again. It's totally Prince.

Tell me where would Janet Jackson be today without JJ and TL. Where would JJ and TL be without the Time and where would the time be without Prince?

This does not take away the extraordinary talent that JJ and TL is recognized for. They have proven themselves to be excellent musicians and successful on their own. However, the early days taught them all about the art of musicianship, which layed the groundworks for their later success. That's all. Jeez. Get a grip. Ain't nobody taking nothing away from Janet Jackson. Just stating a fact.
