Purple Rain 3 If a sequel to GB was made, how would you have it go? I'd allow Morris and Prince to team up to take on TC Ellis. TC Ellis, annoyed that he got replaced by Tony M holds Tamar (played by Rihanna for aesthetic purposes, with lots of obligatory nudity) to ransom, and threatens to record New Power Generation Part3, featuring a ten minute long rap from the man himself. Prince calls upon The Time, who, apart from Morris and Jerome are now all robots equipped with lasers that fire Apollonia CD cases at their foes. The Kid must now learn to develop his powers as a Jehova's Witness in order to defeat eil TC, and so Larry Graham makes a Mr. Miyagi-style cameo as The Kid's mentor.

"I would say that Prince's top thirty percent is great. Of that thirty percent, I'll bet the public has heard twenty percent of it." - Susan Rogers, "Hunting for Prince's Vault", BBC, 2015

I would have The Kid about 20 years later as a has-been, divorced from Ingrid Chavez & livin' it up with young cuties. Estranged from his son, who has become a musical wunderkind himself, the Kid watches his boy with amazement as he tantalizes the club scene with his amazing guitar riffs, dance moves and vocal flare, reminiscent of his days back in 84.' The Kid, finding himself no better than his dad, (who died by the way; complications from the suicide attempt and lung cancer) makes no attempt to reach out to his boy until he finds out The Time is seeking him out to add him to their label. The Time & the Kid had a major fallout about 8 yrs prior and have been enemies since. Morris & Jerome have become involved in illegalities & their attempts to sign the Kid's son to their label alarms the has-been & prompts him to reach out to his son, while battling the pressuring assault from the Time. I would add a lot of parellels to Purple Rain, like his son getting in trouble with management because of his overt sexuality on stage (YOU GUYS THOUGHT PRINCE WAS BAD!!), and his strange lyrical content. In fact, it was his being fired from a club that prompted him to join the Time's venue and label. The whole thing will climax to a cataclysmic theme of father/son relationships, stage competition, physical battles between the Kid & the Time, and a lesson on being a loving dad. Whattya y'all think!?
