But I gotta stickup for my girl Vanity/Denise from what Denise said in a interview she did on BET back in 85 she stated that she really didn't want to be a singer but Prince said to her "If you really love me you'll come with me so we can get a girl group started." Vanity thought that that was a really heavy statement coming Prince. So she agreed. I believe her feelings for Prince were sincere. Jill Jones who sung backup with Prince has stated that Vanity was really in love with Prince. Her feelings were genuine. I don't think she purposely set out to use Prince. She always said she left because she wanted to do something on her own without Prince to show everyone that she could. | |

However, Vanity did say recently, probably about like 3 or 4 years ago that their love was a "fornicating kind of love", meaning that they would have sex nonstop, do things that weren't of God, outside of marriage, and it wasn't right because God says that it isn't right. Prince was even into porn back in the day, and so was she. So being now that she is a woman of the Lord and is saved and preaches the word, she knows in her heart now that it was wrong to sleep with him even though they were not married. Prince knows that now too. I have to disagree about Vanity being his soulmate. Their relationship is long long gone. There is another soulmate out there for him, he is just waiting patiently for her.
