Prince buying his own 3121 I told my brother (who was a P-fan but isn't anymore): Did you here the news: P is again n°1 in the states. He answered: Yeah I heard that but only because he baught his own records (meaning a lot of 3121).
Is this really true? Can anybody confirm this ? Maybe u're a trip and a half | |

Record labels are known to buy their own records to push an album to #1 or to push an album to the gold status. ie if an album is at 480,000 units sold they can just buy 20,000 units and push it to gold status. They do this in the hopes that people hearing that an album is number 1 or gold it will convince people it is good and they will go out and buy it. DJ Dave Paul
