Grafitti Bridge love

I wish people would stop dissing it, this album has a lot of great songs and its funky. IOt has had a resurgence with me. The weakest tracks, Tick Tick Bang, Love Machine and Melody cool are more bearable than bad and the rest rocks, especailly the Question of U JIR, SWSAT, Elephants and Flowers and We can funk, along with the superior time cuts.

I can see a big shift of opinion for this underrated classic, like Rolling Stone said, Prince covers more musical territory in 4 songs than most groups do in a career. Lets here some love and take it to the bridge.

Unfortunately there are more than four songs on the album.

Graffiti Bridge, the song, is laughable.

But, here I go inviting criticism once again, I LOVE Tick, Tick, Bang. I think it's marvellous.

That, alongside the ones mentioned are pretty cool.

I once made a thread like this, so I agree with you.

Joy In Repetition, The Question Of U, Elephants and Flowers, and Still Would Stand All Time are amongst the best songs he's ever done.

I've also got quite a soft spot for New Power Generation Part I, Thieves in the Temple, and Can't Stop This Feeling I Got.

Same here! That's a badass track!!!

I also LOVE Release It. When I first heard that I nearly shit a golden brick...I had never heard that kind of relentless funk and I don't think I've heard anything quite like it since.

With the exception of the title track, GREAT album!!!

I think: remove the title track and you're on to a winner.

Release It is spectacular, Love Machine is tremendous, the end of Can't Stop is fantastic... pity about the rest of the song (joke)... Yeah. An enjoyable album ... OK, you can take New Power Generation out too, if you want.

Yeah I love Can't Stop...I mean that thunder in the beginning is awesome. Just turn up the bass and it blows me away. Tick, Tick, Bang is great too. And The Latest Fashion is great because you finally get to here Prince and Morris together. The album is worth listening to on that fact alone.

Here's a confession... I once, in a lucidly, drunken act of ... well, something, thought my girlfriend of the time would not only like to hear the song, but would like to see me pull-off the dance routine that accompanied it! D'you know what? I've never known my age... Needless to say, she dumped me.

I, for a long bit, HATED this album, as it had Prince cutting off the original intro to Joy In Repetition, to which I could NOT listen for a long while. I actually still never do listen to the released version.

But the rest, except maybe Round and Round, The Latest Fashion and the title song still get airplay In My House.

I also have a VERY weak spot for Tick Tick Bang and can advice non-hardcore fans to search out the early 80's demo of this song, which is awfully cool and funny.

I will ALWAYS have a weak spot for Grafitty Bridge because it features The Question Of U and Thieves In The Temple.

I would love Graffiti Bridge if not for the fact that the best song on the album is a Time track (Shake!)...

I think it's a great movie. I like Tick Tick Bang, Elefants and Flowers, New Power Generation, Release it, Thieves in the temple, and Joy in repetition.

Many of Prince's best songs are on this album. I've loved it since day one.
