Did Musicology Influence Todays R&B?

I just saw Christina Aguilera's "Ain't no other man" video; there's something about the video (and song) that I find very reminiscent of the "Musicology" video. I guess it's that mixture of old soul, jazz and today's R&B. Outkast is also showcasing this style, with there single "The Mighty O" from the "Idlewild" soundtrack.

Would you say Prince's Musicology is responsible for the current popularity of this musical style?
