In terms of Production, mastering what P albums sound the best?

What albums do you think sound the best?

I think batman sounds pretty loud and clear also GB and diamonds and pearls.

The Gold Experience

The Rainbow Children
ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

It's very well recorded, very crisp. But, along with Lovesexy and prince, I've always considered it to be over-produced. shrug

Symbol album is real clear and clean sounding. Also I took TMBGIW off the gold experience and put it on anther disc with a whole bunch of other P songs, and it really stood out. The Gold Experience was well mixed. Also (i don't know if it counts) Girl 6. Old Friend 4 Sale's sound is just excellent. When the lights go down sounds emaculate!
I'm an org elitist... totally unapproachable.

I think the best mixed prince album would have to be Musicology, followed by The Rainbow Children. A lot of the WB stuff sounds great too.

the production on gold experience was always a bit too dense and overwhelming for me, song elements have a tendency to get lost in it (its not as bad as lovesexy for this though). symbol on the other hand is just beautifully recorded and produced, amazingly clear sound for all the instruments and vocals.

the rainbow children and n.e.w.s. are also very well done.

Gold Experience and Musicology....if you ever listened to them with headphones or on a really nice sound system you will understand

The Gold Experience sounds very good, especially played on a loud level: very direct and bombastic, but therefore not always subtle enough. The Symbol album has more 'balance' when it comes to bombast and subtlety.

Snap

I'd say prince and The Rainbow Children -- good clean sound throughout, even when the dynamics get stretched and/or several instruments are sharing the same range

The rock stuff on Musicology always sounded a bit noisy to me--not the music itself, but as if the levels were too high.

But I'd agree with Gold & all the early 90's stuff. Emancipation is too slick, but pristine.

For early stuff-Prince, Controversy

Middle Stuff--Parade
