Did anyone else watch that Match Game last night with fat girl Rikki Lake host? At the end the girl had to come up with the most popular fill in the blank word for the word PURPLE_____ well they had the top 3 answers and she had to ask her other celeb panelists for the top 3. The stupid model girl Adrienne said Haze, some ugly buck tooth old guy said Purple Rose of Cairo and old girl Bety White came through with RAIN! wouldn't you know it, it was the top #1 answer so the girl got like $50,000 donated to someone as a prize. But, get this, during that whle segment, Prince's name WAS NEVER MENTIONED! Maybe it was against the law for someone to mention his name on that network.

i was waiting for someone to post this but then i thought i was the only one watching Gameshow Marathon,lol... The Match Game is one of my favorite game shows in the 70's...i was a kid, but even back then i dug the set design, the fashion, the music, and the adult humor...

i was shocked as hell when Betty said Rain..... i fell out laughing!!

Rikki Lake did mention Prince's name but you could barely hear it because of the audience applause

I saw that too...me and wifey were watching and neither of us thought that 'rain' would be the top answer.....we laughed pretty hard when Betty White said it and then it was right.....

I love Betty White!

sorta off-topic: can anybody imagine if prince were actually on a game show? sitting around on hollywood squares and cracking corny-assed jokes with a bunch of actors/actresses from cruddy sitcoms and b-list actors and stuff like that?

winning a game of plinko on the price is right and dancing around with one of the models who stand next to all the prizes?

Of course Betty would be the one to come up with Purple Rain.. When the Golden Girls was on TV they mentioned him a couple of times. Sophia even sang a little of Purple Rain on the show LOL
