Crystal Ball and The Truth Do either of these have explicit lyrics when they were released?
If I bought them today from npgmc, would they have explicit lyrics still?

The original releases are quite explicit. Can't speak on the downloadable versions as I haven't heard them.

For whatever reason, they are the explicit versions for download on NPGMC, exactly the same as the CD set.

Thank you for the info
I am seriously thinking about buying the 5 cd disc set (not downloading it), and I was wondering if they are the origional or the clean version?

There's no clean version. The only clean version album out there is the Symbol album as far as I know - and it doesn't say 'clean' on the cover, it just doesn't have the explicit lyrics warning on the front. [Edited 6/25/06 2:32am]

Wasn't there a clean version of Emancipation, too?

I have the clean version of Emancipation, and didn't realise it was so until a week or so ago. In the UK shops I've only ever seen the clean version. Can anyone tell me which tracks have been edited?

I bought what was called an "import" of CRYSTAL BALL at a local record shop years ago. It has a pic of him in a silver vest on the cover. Says it was recorded at June Street studios in LA, 1990. Produced by BMA international. There is a little cursing, but nothing major. Its a great CD. Has 2 versions of We can Funk. My favorite song from this CD is Power Fantastic. Say it's just a dream...
U open up ur eyes and come 2 realize u simply imagined this So u lean over and give her a kiss Here on earth, here on earth, with u it's not so bad Here on earth, here on earth eye don't feel so sad Stay right here

Ermm, yeah, that must be a bootleg collection of bootleg songs, neither of those appear on the released version.

Its a really good CD, I dont know what set list the original Crystal ball has.... The original Crystal Ball was a planned 3 LP set and was never released. It eventually transformed into Sign O' The Times. Here is the last track. Crystal Ball November 30th 1986 Side 1: 01. Rebirth Of The Flesh 02. Play In The Sunshine 03. Housequake 04. Ballad Of Dorothy parker Side 2: 05. It 06. Starfish & Coffee 07. Slow Love 08. Hot Thing Side 3: 09. Crystal Ball 10. If I Was Your Girlfriend 11. Rockhard In A Funky Place Side 4: 12. The Ball 13. Joy In Repetition 14. Strange Relationship 15. I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man Side 5: 16. Shockadelica 17. Good Love 18. Forever In My Life 19. Sign O The Times Side 6: 20. The Cross 21. Adore 22. It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night We Can Funk and Power Fantastic don't even appear. It seems likely you have a bootleg pretending to be 'official' under the name 'Crystal Ball' but not even having songs intended for that project.

Here's The Dream Factory sides three and four tracklist: Side Three 01. Crystal Ball 02. Power Fantastic (the mislabelled 'Miles Ahead' is simply part of 'Power Fantastic') Side Four 01. Last Heart (correct title of 'Heartbreaker') 02. Witness for the Prosecution 03. Movie Star 04. A Place in Heaven 05. All My Dreams (omitted since it was available on the bootleg 'Charade') This was compiled with: We Can Funk Witness We Can Funk extended All from the 1989 sessions for Grafitti Bridge.
