Yes, I met him twice this year at the Celebration. The first time he was walking through the lounge in studio b and I was standing at the door that went to studio b, he walked in and I said Hey...he smiled at me, turned away for a second, turned back smiled again and walked off.
The second time...well, let's just say everyone who was there knowns about it. C.

Vagina said: PLuv Yes of course Prince is a person ,but like you and me? Are we musicans? Are you in Show Business? You are not in the same League. Sorry but we would not be considered his Peers. Remember Jury Duty? Well his PEERS are in Show Business. Until You or anyone Else becomes a Millionaire in Show Business I would remember that Prince is Indeed Quite a Special Person. Fans are wonderful, but we just aren't his PEERS. You can go onstage cause he is KIND enough to Allow you,but you are NOT Prince and you are not the Star. I think Prince is WAY too Generous sometimes and a lot of fans aren't nice enough . Many of you just are Complainers and don't follow what Prince is trying to Convey through his music. I find this a Shame.
Get real! The teachers who dedicate their lives to educating the children are just as special as Prince. The doctors and nurses and care for the ill and infirm are just as special as Prince. The firefighters and EMTs who rescue people and save their lives are just as special as Prince. The foster parents who provide a home for needy children are just as special as Prince. Prince

Hmmm...well to some yea, maybe big egos, to say that u have "met" Prince... but to others such as myself, it was just an encounter, to have crossed each others paths with eye contact and verbal exchange... from him to me AS WELL AS from me to him... I would love to cross paths with all good souls ...that are respectable people, that have positive energy...and most of them are not of superstar status. Prince had the pleasure to encounter me as much as I had the pleasure to encouter him. Sooo, its not just that he is PRINCE (the rockstar) its who he is, not what he is. A passionate soul, who has grown and reachin out to become the best possible person he can b, one who loves God and is not afraid to say it regardless if he gets slammed for it or not, someone who pursues his intrest and love, regardless if its the popular choice or not...and hes clean..lol..thats a big must...give me any person like this and it would b my pleasure to cross thier paths, regardless if his name is Prince... sure everyone has their downfalls, but its ones choice if u attempt to grow and correct them, or if u allow them to keep u down. Now, if Prince was of bad character and had negitive vibes, I would have no desire to touch his hand and definetly would not want to look into his eyes...let marylin manson or the insane clown possee (lol whatever they r called) be on the same side of the street as me...Im crossin the street...LOL not too sure Y u took it the way u did, as people simply wanting to ego boost, even usein the word battle in there. One of the things I agree with Prince, is when he says: "sometimes the way people perceive things tells alot about themselves."...not to b quoted but the meanin remains the same. People need to perceive Prince as their equal...if u cannot do that, then u got some work to do on ur own self. as i have said before...Prince is a person just like u n I...he just sings a little better then us, plays a little better then us, dances a little better then us...and looks better then U i luv u girl hehe Truly ... awesome statements!!! They are wonderful people yes, cause they are helping People and saving lives and all. They surely are deserving of our thanks and prayers, however they are not Prince and they don't create music. I absolutely Love Musicians and Prince is the Best Musician in the world. His Talent is Over-whelming. There are many in the above field and they are worthy of our RESPECT,but there is only 1 Prince...

One night in, hmmm... I think it was around 1989...
I was at a Party on the border of Riverdale / Fayetteville Georgia. Me and my friends weren't really well recieved at these redneck parties but the guy having the party was cool because he skated with us from time to time. Anyway, I snagged a bottle of Southern Comfort and sat atop the half pipe by myself, along come Prince and we killed that bottle of SC and talked about all kinds of stuff. Suddenly a bottle goes flyying through the air and this girls head gets busted open. Stupid redneck threw a bottle into a crowd of folks talking and hit the girl. I saw it happen to I had to tell the cops the story... Unfortunately I was drunk and they didn't believe me. Oh, Prince left when the bottle hit that girls head. Poor girl...

In 1998, i met him at a meet and greet thing. Shook his hand and all!! We're about 10 people in the room , and when he had finished shaking everybody's hand and was leaving, he turned in the doorway and said" Now that wasn't 2 bad.." with a Prince smile. I will never forget it!! Prince rocks! [This message was edited Wed Jul 31 0:35:03 PDT 2002 by Hifi]

Yes, I met him at all 3 celebrations, but the encounters
were always too short. I'm glad I met him but it just made me want to be around him more. I wish I could have spoke to him for hours. He was always nice, but can you imagine buying someones music for like ten years and liking them and than you meet them and they're rude to you? That wouldn't be very pleasent.

I thought she was talking spiritually. Many Prince fams feel connected to him in this way and therefore may regard themselves as his peers. Maybe she'd like to expand on this? well thank u for the invitation to expand soulsplash...I would love to Prince is truely talented, aint no doubt bout it. He has talents that many of us do not have. I also have talents that he does not. U also have talents that he nor I have, etc. etc. etc. U see, each and everyone one of us has thier own speical talent...its just a matter of finding it and running with it... fame, wealth, color etc. does not make the person. The V person (a few posts up) states "a jury of ur peers" If Prince should ever be tried in court, do u really think his jury would consist of rockstars???... LOL that would b a sight to see wouldnt u think (his jury would b Micheal Jackson, lenny kravitz, maceo) LOL... would love to see that on court TV...lol...ok, sorry..lol silliness aside... let me give u a small example. I work in the medical profession. One day I was dealing with this family...a lower class woman, drab clothing, not too educated etc. I have so much respect for this woman, she carries 3 jobs to try to make ends meet, she is such a hard worker, shows very high respect for others, keeps all her appointments with my facility, making every attempt to work with us to help her troubled teenage daughter...takes 3 bus transfers on a weekly basis to keep her appointments no matter how tired she is and no matter what the weather is outside. This woman has my utmost respect. Im speaking with her at the time and here comes in another family. This man being very wealthy, dressed to the 9s, hardly ever shows up for appointments for his kid, walks right into my office inturupting me and the other woman, expecting me to excuse myself from her to assit him. what the duck!!! instead, I excused him, and asked him to wait in the lobby and I would come to get him when me and the woman was done...he was furious. now I ask U...what gives him the right to even think he was better then that woman???...$$$?...fame? Im sorry but $$ and fame does NOT earn u respect, it buys u respect from the people that allow this type of shallowness. someone can be the richest person in the world the most famous person in the world and could also be the most rudest, disrespectble being...so I guess u r right in a sense V...I would NOT consider that person my peer...I would consider myself on a higher plane, higher level...however not because of wealth, stardom etc. but because of their inner self. I respect Prince for what he believes inside. now (as Prince would say) dont get it twisted...Im not saying that I believe in everything Prince believes in...I respect him for doing his own soul searchin, finding his own path...and always reaching forward, striving. I believe that is what every person should do. You are constintly growing, one never stops growing...but its the choice u have in which direction u grow in. I have liked the man since I was a kid...watched him grow from the inside...not stardom but inner growth...he is striving to be the best he can be. I too have grown since i was that teen...had lived the life of an invincible teenager..have grown.. did much soul searching, and still growing to be the best I can be... when u accuse me of stating Prince being my peer in a sense of stardom or wealth...lol...thats crazy...I do not compare...I am no singer, nor am I rich... But does that material wealth put him on a higher level then me, that he is not my peer? puts him in a higher tax bracket, thats about all. but for innerself, yes indeed... I am high up there side by side Mr.Prince. I have a high inner self and the upmost respect for myself and will always continue to strive to be the best I can be. money and stardom is not the answer u see. its all about who u are...not what u are. money and stardom is all a man made illusion. If more people of the world would put more focus on theirself...strive for the inner beauty and inner indiviual talent that they have..strive and push theiself to be the best they can be...and stop trying to be like someone else, this world would be a much better place. p.s.pardon my spelling, I do not claim to be a teacher P luv
