On a hunch, I went to the local library to see if there were any copies of Possessed, by Alex Hahn, and to my luck there were copies at three branches. However, the one at the main library, which is closest to me, was listed as being stolen. There was another copy available, but I have to go to a different branch to get it. This really stinks, Prince fans. Unlike bootlegging, stealing Prince books is actually keeping others from reading them.

Dude, I just checked at my library. I can't believe they have 13 copies and not a single one has been checked out.

i stole a really cool prince book back in the day from our library
i kept having to take it back every 2 weeks to prolong and so just
took it from the shelve and stashed it down my pants one day.

after two years, i brought it back just slipped it back onto da
shelves.

I work at a library and we had three copies in ciculation but none of them were returned after the initial check out and I've still yet to read it.

i bought a copy of the Possessed book brand new from "Books-A-Million and it costs $25, which was a good price. I enjoy the book and still havent read the whole thing. I kinda skipped around, half of it i already knew....but that stuff about him wanting 2 make Rave a hit and arguing a stuff....thats PRINCE!

Here in NZ we onl;y have one copy of DanceMusic SEX Romance by Per Nilsen, I ve taken it out 3 times and thats it. All our libraries here have heaps of books on Bob Dylan and Elvis Presley but no Prince. I havent nicked any Prince books but defaced one when I was 17, the Chapter 4 page on Dave Hills, a Pop Life I drew a grid on the picture of Prince buck naked behnd a huge guitar and drew on to a folder (11tth grade type thing) and put an addenda of songs and albums to 93 in the back in biro. I did stop short of drawing a huge symbol on the cover though.
