When did Prince say he converted to JW?

Did Prince actually convert to JW? Just because he's studied with them or attended Kingdom Hall doesn't necessary mean he converted.

I don't remember his ever making a public statement about it, nor does it really matter if he is or is not a Jehovah's Witness...

Now... his preaching bit gets a bit tired, but I guess that's just his bag...

So far he hasn't made offical statements about it. All there is to conclude he is are the lyrics, the 'christMESS' poem, the 12 questions and reports that he was spotted numerous times at a local kingdom hall. Also, it is a fact that people have been talking about him being a witness since TRC was made public, which was last year already...I think that if it wasn't true he would have told it somehow by now...

I also think he doesn't seem interested in letting the whole world know what he is doing, I 'm guessing he is fine with it the way it is. He and Mani haven't officaly confirmed they are married either... yet all the signs point to it and Prince neither confirms it nor denies it... I think they don't care about announcing these things.
And I don't really care if he doesn't anymore.

I remember anout 2 years ago I was watchin the news and Prince was on takling about him being a J W, and he could have changed to somethin else, but when I saw him in concert this year, he kept going off about religous stuff (don't get me wrong, Ima very religous person, not a JW though) like how Jesus wasn't born on Dec. 25, and how he was not born in a manger and stuff like that, so he probably still is, I donno but whatever he is, I love him jsut da same! wink

All of the signs point to Prince and Mani being married. What signs are those? Because they are together alot doesn't mean they are married. Just because Prince is buying a home in Toronto doesn't mean anything. I think people read more into things than what is really going on.

I read stuff and heard stuff too. But until someone comes up with a marriage license I'll never believe it.

There have been signs that Prince is in fact married...this is not gossip or speculation either.
As a matter a fact,a club member at the soundcheck of the Cleveland show asked Prince if he was married and he confirmed the "rumors" by giving a simple yes response to the question.

Like I said I'll believe Prince is married when I see a marriage license. You think by now one would have shown up.(marriage license, that is)

What EXACTLY is your beef about Prince being married and why do you feel you need to see a marriage license to prove it's official? Like I said,Prince admitted in Cleveland at the soundcheck that he was in fact a married man.
Be happy for him.

I have no beef with Prince being married. Prince has always been my favorite. I wish him well. But Prince is a manipulator. He may say something that isn't the truth. He nows how to manipulate his fans, the media just people in general. You said he responded with a simple "yes". When asked 'Are you married'? he could be answering yes he's married to his music...to anything. This is only my opinion. I'll never believe it until I see a marriage license.

..not that it is going to 'solve' anything here..but the last 'official' mention of it was on the npgmc site...they said that prince was studying the Holy Scriptures with the Jehovah Witnesses but was not yet a baptized publisher...

...anything beyond this has not been confirmed or denied officially...

as for his marriage..he has mentioned, in recent concerts, his wife..holy matrimony...and 'she lives with me now..' so it appears he actually is married..but again..no statement to confirm or deny has been officially made...

...by the way...not ev'rything you read on prince.org is true...i know this may come as a shock to some of you..but...wink

No I wasn't at the ceremony to know that he is married. Somebody asked him the question and he answered yes. Yet you can't accept this and put it down to Prince being manipulative. Prince is under no obligation to show us a marriage certificate. If you dont want to beleive him when he says "yes" then that's your problem.

Just dropping some knowledge on your knowledge!

Preaching? What preaching? TRC?! There's a little poke here and there but overall it's the usual metaphoric confusion. I've yet to hear any preaching...and I've yet to hear that he's actually a JW...if anything, the speculative noise is all I hear.

Actually Prince held a press confrence in April? May? I can't remember. Anyway he announced that he had become a JW it was on MTV news. Also yes Prince and Manni are married, they got married in January. I heard it directly from a close friend of Larry and Prince. My husband helps to promote bands and spoke with a drummer friend of theirs.

I don't remember hearing anything on MTV of that sort. I don't believe stuff I hear from a friend of a friend. Have you seen a marriage license.

My 2 sense.

Prince Roger Nelson was born into a family of Seventh Day Adventists. The Adventists & the Jehovah Witnesses are closely related .They may have the same founder, but I am not sure. Why then is it so fantastic for Prince to be a JW???

The world that we live in is in a huge mess.We almost had nuclear war a couple of months ago,the WTC bombing,Isreal, drug & gang problems, this list will go on and on.Prince found something to give him peace in the middle of madness. The man is contributing to the positivity of this messed up world.

I challenge myself daily to be able to contribute to the power of GOOD everyday, let me challenge you to do the same.

Prince,my brother,keep the faith.

Ya wanna know something?

First, people say that they got married in December 2001. Then, people want to say that they got married in January 2002. Well which one is it people? Seems like ya'll can't make up your minds here.

Besides, I agree 100% with shortcake. There is no marriage license, he hasn't confirmed anything, and for any of you to even ask if he is married at one of the shows, only goes to show you how NOSY you all are.

And then, there was no confirmation of the JW thing either. All we know is that he is a spiritual person. You mean, just because he hangs out with Larry and studies with the Hall means that he is a JW?

How do you people actually "confirm" this stuff?

And what's all of this talk about Mani anywayz? Who is she? What is she about?

The only thing that I can see about her is how she clung to the man for like 5 years straight, being his Personal Assistant, I mean why take a job like that when instead she could have gone on to have an independent mind of her own and do her own thing? What's up with that? Seems like she isn't that much of a strong person in the first place. Not a good example of an independent woman who learns how to say "no" to someone who wants to offer her a job a Paisley Park, and is able to do her own thing. In fact, she is the opposite: Dependent on a man, says yes to everything, etc. And don't tell me anything about she is strong either, because she's not.

I don't know who in the heck this Mani girl is (I'm sure many people don't). But I could tell from what I've heard that she ain't all of that to begin with. If she was, she'd know to get a life of her own instead of depending on some man to help live it for her. She isn't that much of an importance to many people anyway (but only to the people who start all of the rumors).

And besides, I wonder what the rumor people will make up next. Probably something bizzare. They just keep going and going.

I'm just waiting for the next fabricated story to come out so I can laugh my ass off. Some of you people say that he is a JW and he is married, but there is no proof. And I am not saying that he has to prove anything, but damn, let him say the truth about this, we don't need third-parties telling us shit because that is where the rumors come from in the first damn place.

Go ahead, respond. I don't mind the feedback.

By the way, right on shortcake smile. I'm glad we are on the same page here. Some of these people are truly blind.

Oh and yes, by the way, MTV, VH-1, CNN nor any other new channel in my area (New York City) hasn't confirmed anything.

So to all of those people who spread these rumors, I don't know where in the heck you all get your "sources" from.

Prince did become a JW, that is why he got married.
They believe sex out of marriage to be a huge sin.

I'll never understand why he did this just because Larry is one? I'd do the opposite of anything Larry did.

Do you all think he will stay with this religious outfit?
I have my doubts.

I think there is a lot of difference between JWs and SDA.
